Thank you! I was surprised it was so low. As I was late to the party I thought it would be in the high thousands.

I'm loving mine, only gripe i have is the bracelet is a little flimsy, will get a strapcode one on there soon and it will be ace!/

The bracelet isn't the best and looks like a pressed one, but it isn't a thousand pounds watch so I can live with that.

Wrist shot and lume shot.

I haven't worn mine with the bracelet yet, just threw on my SKX's rubber strap for the time being as didn't have time to remove links.

I didn't feel too bad but I agree, the StrapCode is worth getting.. I have their Super Jubilee on my SKX, I may go for something a bit sharper and more 'angled' to match the case design of the Samurai.

Wondering whether to get my Seiko Sportura Honda F1 1/100sec repaired or pull the trigger on a SKX007?

Cost versus Nostalgic value as the Sportura was a gift from wife for wedding.

Sooooo earlier in this thread forum member dterry offered up a fairly battle weary snk809 which he very kindly gifted to me....many thanks.

As you can see its had a good working life and was just the thing I was looking for to try my first attempt at modding.

I stripped the watch down then formulated a shopping list and ordered the bits.

While awaiting the parts I spent some time cleaning and polishing the case.

The parts arrived and I very slowly and carefully refitted all the parts... the most nerve-racking part definitely being the refitting of the hands.

So here it is finished....I hope your like the results..got to say I am quite pleased with it.

Sorry for old bump, just catching up on a few things. I hadn't heard of the Seiko micro studio before and have been reading about this watch since spotting your post. Incredible.

I suppose it isn't surprising. The limited edition Dawn Grey model is all over Ebay like a rash at up to nearly €1,000.

Grabbed a Hirsch 'Arne' grey strap for the SRPD03, super comfortable, really nice quality. Was tempted by the black and orange perforated one they do but decided on the (more affordable) grey to kinda match the dial..

Could you use the original big fat Seiko spring bars (2.5mm diameter in the middle, ~ 1.2mm at the ends) or did you have to use slimmer spring bars (I can't find any with 1.2mm ends) with the Hirsch strap?

Had to use the smaller ones that came with the strap dude, the bigger Seiko ones wouldn’t fit through the rubber unfortunately
