If we're doing chronological Seiko pics, here's my collection from '62 to '99

Maybe you guys can help.

I would love to find an original strap for my grand-fathers Seikoe 7005-8150

Love the 70's styling and I foolishly had a new strap fitted when it was handed down to me, but dont remember ever seeing an original one like all the pics I can find.

If I can find a braclet, I'll get it serviced and it will become part of the small, wearable collection I have.

Maybe strapcode can help?
I know it's not original, but they're decent quality.
Something like this seems suitable:

Bought a strapcode oyster with polished center link.
Didn't really like it on the SKX007, but love it on the SKX009:

I love a bit of 70's Seiko action! Your best bet is probably going to be buying a "spares or repair" that still has it's original bracelet:

Have you seen that crystaltimes are selling new skx cases bare complete with drilled lugs?

That'd be a 6138-3000 'Jumbo' automatic chrono from 1972

Yes, I bid on that one but just missed out, plan was to service all 3 (those 2 and mine) or use for spares and put the ones I didnt want back on ebay later.

Need to keep looking.

Did pick up this though - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-SEIKO-5-automat... straps are available, so will see if it can be serviced.

Very nice. How do you find the GS? I have one but haven't started wearing it yet (early purchase for a birthday which hasn't happened yet...)

Afternoon all, I am looking at replacing my Tag with a Seiko Prospex and have narrowed it down to one of these two:
https://www.seiko-watch.co.jp/collections/en/prosp...
or
https://www.seiko-watch.co.jp/collections/en/prosp...

The first is my preferred watch, but my real question (apart from has anyone got one of these two) is, due to having slim wrists 6.75"m would one of these look out of place? I have not got a jeweller within easy reach who has one I can try, so any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Like night and day with the others. The quality is obvious the moment you pick it up, it really does feel special.

I think my favourite thing about it is that it isn’t too flash. I love Rolex’s but would never own one because they can come across as a status symbol and be worn for the wrong reasons. With this, you know you have a quality item without shouting about it.

Did you look at a few models of GS? I am very tempted to buy a Spring Drive later this year as I am very taken by the technology and reputed finish (I've not seen one in the metal)... I would probably buy a GMT version as I don't own any GMT watches (apart from a Citizen holiday watch) but am wobbling between a divers version or a regular look.

Odd that this one has Seiko writ large, plus the GS branding, whereas the one a few posts back just has Grand Seiko written on it. I think I prefer the less cluttered and less-branded face.
