Odd that this one has Seiko writ large, plus the GS branding, whereas the one a few posts back just has Grand Seiko written on it. I think I prefer the less cluttered and less-branded face.
The one I pictured, whilst still available with some retailers, is an old model. It's the one I would buy.NDA said:
Did you look at a few models of GS? I am very tempted to buy a Spring Drive later this year as I am very taken by the technology and reputed finish (I've not seen one in the metal)... I would probably buy a GMT version as I don't own any GMT watches (apart from a Citizen holiday watch) but am wobbling between a divers version or a regular look.
I had my eye on my one for a while and didn’t consider any other models, the one above looks really nice thoughLordsmut said:

I had my eye on my one for a while and didn’t consider any other models, the one above looks really nice thoughGiven I was fixated on GS as a brand and the spring drive movement particularly, this model should have been the one and I tried it on in person a couple of times (once in Jura Watches in Leeds and once at the Seiko boutique in London)...but... It wears a lot larger than its size suggests - certainly larger than the spring drive diver I ended up going for, and there's also something distracting & overly busy to my eyes about the overall look in the flesh - I think because the outer bezel is sapphire, it seems to throw off more reflection than even a ceramic or anodised bezel. I also wasn't crazy about the power reserve treatment on this (or the other spring drive GMTs) compared to the diver.
All very personal to me, and I've seen plenty of comments from people who own this model who absolutely love it. Good luck with your choice!
I have a Seiko SSC015 solar diver. I stupidly forgot about it for a while and left it in a drawer. It completely discharged and now won't charge with just light. I assume it needs a new battery/capacitor or something but I'm struggling to find any information.
Does anyone happen to know what's required and where I could get the watch repaired?
I'm near London if that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like the blue one, so makes it the SBDC053.How are you finding the bezel magpie? I got a black 051 from ebay a few weeks ago, which I love - other than I find the bezel moves very easily. I'm constantly centring it back to the 12 o'clock position.
Although sods law it's out of line in this picture!

Its keeping great time and is a really nice watch
I picked this up yesterday and posted it in the Wrist Check thread, might as well post it here too.
I didn't have a Tuna, thought I'd get one to see what the fuss was about. I really like it so far, not sure if I'll keep it but it's nice.
