After purchasing my Presage recently,
and it's a lovely thing, i was encouraged to get a SKX007, and found one for 150 quid with a bracelet. After getting it, for one reason or another I hadn't actually worn it until last week.
And it's a fabulous thing, a little 'janglely' - but really comfortable and clear to read. I'm tempted to get a Crafter Blue rubber strap for it in due course.

I took delivery of this yesterday:
1st gen orange face monster, mint condition. Massively happy with it, joins my 4th gen monster I got as a gift off my girlfriend:
I prefer the look to the older ones, there’s a few more I intend on getting!
Also, does anyone recommend sizing these themselves? I haven’t done it before but I don’t want to keep taking them to the jewellery shop to get links removed/added every time I buy a new watch! Advice wanted, also any tools recommended would be helpful. Cheers

Cool Monster there.
I bought an orange-faced Prospex Samurai this summer for no reason other than it was ridiculously cheap; the thing ended up growing on me and I only went back to wearing my Seamaster this week!
If the strap on yours is anything like mine, you don't need a specialist tool, just something long thin and proddy.
Mine has pins and internal collars. YouTube has good tutorials.
Just be careful that the tiny collars don't ping off and disappear in the carpet. I may have done this.
Of course, the easiest solution (if not the cheapest) is to get a better bracelet for it from Strapcode, or a model-specific rubber strap from Crafter Blue. Both will fit your watch absolutely perfectly.

I believe the newer Monster has the pin and collar system bracelet but I’m not 100% sure about the old one. I know the new one does because when I took it to my local jeweller to get sized he hadn’t seen it before, which worried me about using him somewhat but he did it and it’s been fine ever since!
I have thought about getting a different bracelet from Strapcode, I am liking the look of the Super Engineer but we’ll see!

Am looking for a Seiko 6138-8039 chrono in the black gold colour if anyones has one laying around! 1977 time wise
Its the 'JPS' version, to go with my '78 JPS Esprit. Think they'll look great together.
Thanks
As a watch & car combo, that has to be way up there in the coolness stakes! Its the 'JPS' version, to go with my '78 JPS Esprit. Think they'll look great together.

I'd buy that just because. Nice patina. Spydaman said:

I think I’ve dropped enough hints and have got it coming for my birthday which is nice as it’s my birth year and month. Maybe I can stop getting anymore watches. It’s coming from Australia. I like because it’s the rarest variant with the Grand Seiko logo engraved on the face rather than printed or embossed. It’s very patinated which I like as there are plenty of perfect ones which all look the same. This one is weathered but with all the details still visible.
My first ever post on this forum but have just today bought this:
I am off to Antarctica in November for 4 months and have been told to get a watch, as phones are useless and awkward to get out of pockets with gloves on just to tell the time. Having spent the past couple of days reading this forum a Seiko sounded like a good bet.
This is only my 2nd ever watch and I think I am getting the bug after having a fun days shopping. My other is an automatic Fossil which I would be worried about damaging if taken away for work.
