You can swap out the capacitor for a battery and then you'll have a regular quartz watch. Obviously you'll have to replace the battery every few years and you have to remove the rotor as well to prevent it from charging the non-rechargable cell but it'll save the hassle of trying to charge it and setting the time every time you want to wear it.

Or just wear it for an extended period to get a full charge in it as there should be a six month power reserve if the cell is in good condition.

No real difference k1 j1....j1 will usually command a premium as most believe it to be better as its beleived made in japan.

Nothing wrong with those turtles but I prefer the later great white shark save the ocean model.

I got mine on a recent sale with Ernest Jones, 249 pounds delivered. It has replaced my SKX which is currently on eBay.

I had no intention of buying a Turtle to be honest but at that price it had to be done, and I also wanted an STO at some point.

The dial is lovely, especially when the light hits it just right and it shimmers!

I've got the Sammy STO and the dial is what makes the watch in my opinion.

Considering all the hype with the dawn grey ones which looks really dull, the STO dial is another world!

The STO Samurai is really nice, I have an orange Samurai at the moment which I really like can imagine how good an STO one would look. I got mine for an excellent deal at 212 pounds delivered from Amazon US a few months ago, which stopped me from getting the STO Samurai deal which was going on recently at around 280 pounds or so, just couldn't do it considering how cheap I got my orange one..

Let's see if it ever comes down to 250...
