Sarb035 will get a few miles put on it this week.
Inspired me to wear my 033 this afternoon. What strap is it? Bought a cheap alligator one of ebay and to put it bluntly it’s crap

I need to decide on which of these two beauties. I shall be saying goodbye to a couple of collectible favourites in order to achieve it (well, only one if it’s the Eichi, and both if it’s the 003), so I do not want to make the wrong call.

If the SBGZ003 is on the cards, why the rose gold Eichi and not the Platinum? They're similar price, aren't they?

Because I like the RG on the EII. TBH, the 003 is in the lead. Just need to secure one here or in US.

Fair enough. I looked at the rose gold before I bought my Eichi, but it wasn't really to my tastes. The SBGZ003 is a lovely thing, excellent movement finishing and a very nice case.

Case material aside I'd be going for the Eichi, though it's a close call. It's the dial that does it for me, when else would you have a hand painted porcelain dialed watch in the collection? GS' profile as a brand is still very low whereas no-one would have a clue about the Eichi, I'd be lying if I said that didn't appeal to me as well.

my snk805 on a 20mm MN from Watchgecko, I like it on the 20mm strap as it adds some - heft to what is quite a small watch

Don't know what came over me but I thought I'd get all the Pogues out at once this morning...

From the left:
  • Oct 69 Silver PROOF
  • June 70 Blue PROOF
  • Oct 70 transitional yellow RESIST
  • March 71 RESIST with 6030T dial
  • Feb 72 RESIST with 6030R dial
  • Aug 74 Aussie Pogue with 6030R dial
Now unlike some, I don't intend to collect several of every variant I do want a nice yellow PROOF 6139-6000 and at some point probably need to get a yellow RESIST -6005 too...

Oooh, I keep looking at those, especially in blue. Super cool late '60s styling and an automatic alarm complication for a decent price is very tempting. thumbup

Missed out on a perfect condition Seiko SQ 8222-8000 that was my month/year of birth on eBay by £2 recently, absolutely gutted. It would be great to have such an item in the collection!

There's definitely something special about a birth year/month watch.
