I don't know if this is the right place, but did Seiko discontinue the SKX moniker?

I see that they have a wide range of "Seiko 5 sports" in a number of colours that look nearly identical to the SKX.
Apparently yes the iso rated diver SKX is no more.

The Seiko 5 that looks like it is not dive rated...no screw down crown no lume pip.
But on the plus side handwinds and hacks.

They've split their market by the looks. Introduced the new 5 range for the high street stores with a huge amount of variety for the masses, more fashion orientated at a price point that could previously pick you up the ISO rated SKX. They've then moved the proper divers up in price to £400+.

If the lack of ISO rating doesnt bother you. IMO the Orient divers have always been a better bet than the SKX

The SKX got me to love Seiko in general, what makes the Mako better? I've been tempted a couple of times.

Looks ace, I gave me lad an original Arnie last year and miss it. May have to "invest" in a new one. Cheers

On sale in John Lewis for less than half price.
I've wanted a Prospex for a long time but couldn't justify the price to my wife...… (buying her some gloves in the sale, helped though)

I have one exactly as you describe.
It's a rattly thing though, I wouldn't recommend it.

The strapcode.com ones are in another league but have a price:
https://www.strapcode.com/collections/replacement-...

Mine is in Belgium but I would be happy to let it go for a tenner + shipping.
Follow up, arrived from Belgium as described and well packaged, thank you Zes smile It seems we have identical sized wrists too so no need for adjustment.

You weren’t wrong about the rattle though!

Really happy with it Zes, thanks again.

Happy to help, I understand the charm of it but it wasn't my thing, been on the watch for less than a week smile.
The SKX009 I ordered later I just ordered on the plastic/rubber strap (which I don't like either), was only a couple of quid cheaper.

Still love my SKXs though. Been contemplating getting one or two before they become hard to source.

Don't know what came over me but I thought I'd get all the Pogues out at once this morning...

From the left:
  • Oct 69 Silver PROOF
  • June 70 Blue PROOF
  • Oct 70 transitional yellow RESIST
  • March 71 RESIST with 6030T dial
  • Feb 72 RESIST with 6030R dial
  • Aug 74 Aussie Pogue with 6030R dial
Now unlike some, I don't intend to collect several of every variant I do want a nice yellow PROOF 6139-6000 and at some point probably need to get a yellow RESIST -6005 too...
Haha. Lovely collection.

What does the 1-32 sub-dial indicate or am I being dim?
