Bought this on a whim at the weekend.
less than £150, don't like the strap but that is easy to correct.
Will have to take some shots of my increasing collection of unremarkable Seikos
Lovely wavey dial. Is that some sort of Presage? less than £150, don't like the strap but that is easy to correct.

I've yet to buy A Seiko where I don't think "I need to replace that strap" out of the box, and I've bought about a dozen of them.
Maybe the Recraft one, that one was good.

That looks fantastic. Did you do yourself?
Thank you. I did indeed. I've been messing around with Seiko's for around 7 or 8 years now.Recently decided to start a small modding business so this is one I designed and sold to a customer.
Key enhancements over the standard SKX are the NH36, double domed sapphire crystal and the lumed ceramic insert.

So how much does one of these cost? Do you have a website?
I looked at the mod parts and they were more expensive than I thought they would be (albeit based on nothing). Can't imagine it's cheap if you change the dial, bezel, hands, etc.

I'm building them completely custom so there's no donor watch to begin with. This means you have free reign of whatever design / style you want. So how much does one of these cost? Do you have a website?

Something like that Arctic SKX would cost £350 for the watch head alone. So with a decent rubber around £380 and a strapcode oyster you're looking at £400.
In contrast to the days when you could pick up a new SKX007J for £125, it may seem steep. However, these days with the increase of SKX prices (some fetching £300 new) I think they are now relatively comparable.
It's also worth baring in mind that while the individual parts may not be cheap they are generally upgraded over stock.
Ceramic lumed bezel, double sealed signed 'S' crown, upgraded movement and crystal etc etc. By the time you've upgraded each part you're actually left with a watch with a far far higher spec than an SKX007. It certainly feels much higher quality on the wrist.
Of course whether or not it's worth it is up to the individual.
No website sadly but I have a few on eBay currently.

1964, no? Looks like the Olympic flame to me.
Edit, suppose they could have kept making them till they ran out of casebacks
First digit in the serial is the year, second is the month, so it's 66 / April.Edit, suppose they could have kept making them till they ran out of casebacks

They made watches for years that still had the Olympic torch - I have a 64 and 67 World Times that have the etched and then engraved torch case back...

Absolutely kicking myself almost bought a gen4 monster save the ocean as a Birthday treat on saturday at £335.
Anyway mulling it over decided I'd go for it today.......it's now up at £450.
On principle I cannot now buy it knowing that I could have had it much cheaper...

Annoyed - that I have been enjoying my beater Seiko rather than my Breitling a lot recently - and today is died.
Whether too much banging around (put a new fence in this weekend - something else but I can not kick start it..
Is there such thing as a recommended repairer ? or are we talking replacements ?
