I've bought twice from Creation and not had to pay import duties on either occasion. Maybe you were unlucky.

Where is the best place to buy a SKX007?
I’d say Amazon
A little more expensive than Creation, but not a lot more when you pay the import duties.
Easy returns if any problems too.
You don't pay import duties if you use Creations Royal Mail option.

Cheapest or best ?

Best imo would be Long Island Watches, quality control is variable on the SKX and these guys ensure there are no q/c issues before sending them out.

So expensive though! I think that I payed about £60 including postage for my first SKX007. Admittedly this was a good buy, but the going rate at the time was only around £90.

$420 for a Prospex that I paid a little over £200 last year, too.

I have seen a brilliant chrono which I was completely unaware of before, so thanks for that.

Discontinued model now though so prices going up . I'd rather pay more than have one with a misaligned chapter ring but I have never seen the attraction of the SKX , poor movement and bracelet at £60-£80 ok but not nowadays . Can be nice when modded but you can easily end up spending 300-400 before you get something comparable with the average microbrand with a nh35 or better.

How are you finding this? Sorely tempted but struggling to find any real world reviews.

Top line review would be it’s almost perfect.

Aside from the looks, I think the best thing about it is the dimensions and overall fit are just so comfortable. It sits over the wrist almost perfectly, it is not overly high or heavy like my SKX007. It’s not too light that you forget about it, but it also doesn’t feel like you could take out half a doorframe by accident either.

The case lines are nice and refined, with a few polished edges which are subtle but add a touch of refinement to the overall look.

Bezel feel is very good, think it’s 120 clicks, feels very tight, refined and also it aligns well!

Sun-burst dial looks great in the sunlight and is uncluttered which makes telling time quickly very simple (something often overlooked).

My only minor gripe would be although the bracelet is a huge, huge improvement over the standard tinny Seiko POS, there is still a minor amount of rattle around the clasp area. Saying that my previous daily was a Damasko with their in-house steel bracelet which has absolutely no slack or cheapness so my expectations are perhaps biased and slightly unfair.

It’s often hard to determine relative value with Seiko and their modern pricing structures, as they can produce similar looking watches for £200 or £4000. This watch absolutely looks, feels and performs like a £1,100 watch. You need to hold it and an SKX together to really appreciate this as you cannot by simply viewing on a screen.

I genuinely haven’t worn, or even thought about wearing, anything else since it arrived which is rare, even for the ‘honeymoon period’. I could genuinely see myself dropping everything else aside a G-Shock and a fancy dressy piece and wearing this as the daily.

Try and get to a AD and put one on the wrist. It’s very highly recommended by me.

I'm so tempted by the new SPB143, yours looks damn nice and I can totally see what you mean about it being the perfect watch for a very small collection.

I'm sure it's worth every penny but the price is what's holding me back.. That and the new Willard.

Think I'll wait for a used example to show up.

My orange Monster, which I bought many years ago when seemingly half of the Watches forum were buying one, went off to vist Rigga recently, he's sorted a little niggle for me (as well as fixing my SMP) and given it a good clean and polish and its looking very fine indeed now:

I lusted after one of those during that particular period of this forum too but resisted.

Still looks great today!
