I still think that the Monster was and still is the best value-for-money watch ever made. You can talk about your Rolex's, but for what it cost a Monster is, if you want it to be, a watch for life. Really tough, and in car terms equals that Toyota pickup that Clarkson & Co tried to destroy. I still have it, along with two others including a Prospex which cost four times the Monster, yet it isn't four times the watch that the Monster is.
I think I paid 120 quid for my gen 1. It's good for that money, terrible value at the current asking prices. Mine actually lines up reasonably well.Dunno though. I don't love it.
I was looking at this Monster today, a Prospex version, waterproof to 200 metres, and so adequate for the shower and the swimming pool. And, being a Prospex, not bad value for money:-

Loved my Monster but it’s at the bottom of the Med. I capsized in a dingy and managed to bend/break a springbar!craig1912 said:

One of the screw-in pins on the adjustable section of the strap came loose and as I came to one of the pool, my left wrist suddenly felt lighter. Luckily it was right at the shallow end, and whilst the watch itself was obviously found immediately, it took several minutes of bobbing up and down to find the pin that had come out.

whacked mine onto a zulu diver, the OEM Silicone diver strap is very nice but it lacks microadjustment. I had to heat the strap to get the lugs on, it should settle down over the next week or so otherwise i will re-heat the strap and re-align it.
That strap looks as though it is a couple of mm too small?Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
