The Lordmatic is cool. There should be model information on the case back.

edit: Alba are a Seiko sub brand yes.

I *think* my new one with 6R35 mid range movement starts the date switch well before 11pm.

Late in the day, and taken from an angle.

Yes - the lordmatic has a funny shaped dial- not round exactly- I’m away now but I’ll get the serial numbers off it

Thanks, I think most of mine do it after midnight.

I bought a Bruce Lee off eBay and the vendor said it was his late step-dads, bought in Hong Kong in the early 1970s and still on it's original bracelet

Hmnm. I think not. That Milanese bracelet is a West Germany made "Expandro"... Here it is installed on my 62MAS...

May be seen as sacrilege but here’s my modified modern milsub. I’ll never be able to afford a real one (or dare wear it). I love it. Probably my favourite.

Eventually got round to buying a 5 GMT. I initially wanted one after admiring blueg33's on this thread, and then I called into the Seiko boutique to have a look at them. Wanted a black one, got a black one.

I think it's a really good looking watch, and looks great on the wrist. The jubilee bracelet looks great. The display caseback is a nice touch. The watch itself feels great quality, but my only complaint is that off the wrist, the bracelet feels really cheap and tinny quite honestly. Especially the clasp. Bit disappointing for a £400 RRP watch. I may have to buy a Strapcode strap. I'll see how it goes, it does feel fine when being worn. The bracelet on my similarly priced Seiko Speedtimer is way higher quality and much heavier feeling.

Thats a bit of a minor gripe though, as I said, it feels fine on the wrist a looks good. Overall, I am very pleased with it.

To be fair, people have complained Seiko bracelets feel a bit cheap for decades, they don't seem to care hehe

That is absolutely true, however after the premium feel of the very heavy Speedtimer bracelet complete with a solid milled clasp, no rattly pressed metal in sight, I was kind of hoping this would be similar, given that it was released after the Speedtimer, and is a similar price point.

I was wrong hehe

Love the watch though!

That’s lovely.
Try it on a Crafter Blue CB11 strap and you’re close to perfection.

I'm ok with the bracelet, but agree re the clasp - mind you my old Omega has a really nasty pressed clasp.

I've worn the watch all day today, and to be fair, when you are wearing it the bracelet/clasp are absolutely fine. It does not detract from what is a really nice watch.

Thanks for pointing those straps out to me. I hadn't heard of that brand before. Very nice.

No probs. They do a smooth one too (CB10) but I like the patterned one. Quality seems very good so far (I’ve got a TD02).
