Chaps, I'm in need of a Seiko, and rather than acquiring the rather increasingly obvious choice that is a monster, I have fallen for this supposed limited edition model.

What do people think, a worthy choice for a Seiko virgin?

I'm not sure I like anything with 'Limited Edition' printed on it.

Yes and far better than the cliched Monster, which is greatly inferior to the SKX007/9, in my opinion.

I read the plastic bezel shroud thing scuffs easily, put me off.

Depends how old you are... Looks like a child's watch to me...

Not my cup of tea at all. Seiko make lots of nice looking watches, but that's not one of them, imho.

Another lured in by the numerous creation praise threads. Succumbed to a SKX007J3 on an Oyster;

(Slightly annoying filter on the photo, but considering it was taken on a Blackberry, I don't think it's come out too bad!)

The usual suspects, Orange Monster and the well used/abused but much loved 009.

This has been in hibernation for about 15 years in a bedside drawer until recently. I swapped the Rolex Explorer lookalike metal strap for a Nato one, and then with a fresh battery that included a free (and successful) pressure test, it's perfectly fit for purpose out and about at weekends. The arrow marker on the hour hand instead of the minute hand seems to be the other way round from most of the other models posted. Not sure what model mine is (think I bought it c. 25 years ago) but v. happy with it.
