Chaps, I'm in need of a Seiko, and rather than acquiring the rather increasingly obvious choice that is a monster, I have fallen for this supposed limited edition model.
What do people think, a worthy choice for a Seiko virgin?
Yes and far better than the cliched Monster, which is greatly inferior to the SKX007/9, in my opinion. What do people think, a worthy choice for a Seiko virgin?

Depends how old you are... Looks like a child's watch to me...What do people think, a worthy choice for a Seiko virgin?
Not my cup of tea at all. Seiko make lots of nice looking watches, but that's not one of them, imho.

This has been in hibernation for about 15 years in a bedside drawer until recently. I swapped the Rolex Explorer lookalike metal strap for a Nato one, and then with a fresh battery that included a free (and successful) pressure test, it's perfectly fit for purpose out and about at weekends. The arrow marker on the hour hand instead of the minute hand seems to be the other way round from most of the other models posted. Not sure what model mine is (think I bought it c. 25 years ago) but v. happy with it.
