These are my other two. Apologies for rough-and-ready photo taken on my tablet.

What brought you to them? Any comments? How about accuracy/reliability.

I asked them about lug width as I couldn't find it.

I've always liked the 'boutique' brands (Benarus, OWC, Steinhart), and found Magrette around ten years ago. I don't remember how, but I fell in love with the original Moana Pacific diver. The first one I bought (the PVD version) had a Miyota movement, but since then, they've moved up the chain and the latest models are STP.

They've always been incredibly accurate. I've never tested them, but they are within a few seconds per day. The cases are 44mm, and the lugs are 24mm, so they're Panerai size, and fairly weighty, but that's what I prefer. This latest model (Moana Pacific II) is also available as a 42mm, because fashion seems to be favouring smaller watches these days.

Magrette don't pretend to have a history or legacy; they just do what they do. I like the fact that they're not very common. Service has always been very good, and I really like they way the look.

I find 44mm perfectly acceptable on my 7.5" wrist though smile
Panerai look extra big because of the crown guard.

24mm strap is wide though, have an entire drawer full of 22mm straps so would love a 22mm one.

Edit:

Pre-ordered this:

Edit 2: they got back to me, 22mm strap! Can't wait for this to arrive biggrin.

Not incoming, but outgoing. Built for a guy who lost a bet and had to buy a 'real James Bond' watch. Put a suitable james bond modification into it.

In my bag today to check timing is spot on. (Must remeber not to press both buttons at once on this one)

It might be obvious, but what is the James bond mod?

press both buttons and the 'ejector seat' is triggered, firing the spring loaded crown in the direction of the baddie that has you tied to a seat and is drilling things in your head. Got the idea from the last james bond film. 00 license required, so special order.

now there's a thought. I wounder how much of an electro magnet it would require and if it'd upset the timing, or inadvertently pull her teeth out.

you can protect against pulling her teeth out by going for one under the age of 70, 007

I read this thread all the time and could not tell you the address of any of the posters!

Gould is the one that I assume would be the easiest to locate, flash git wink

I don;' often post here, and I've never posted all my watches up, and yet I got the whole lot stolen last year, so I doubt it makes much difference smile

I've got one of these incoming

BNIB from an Australian AD at a huge discount from the UK price.

I will have to wait until July to get my hands on it though, as my Sister-in-Law will bring it over for me.
