Well after being made aware of it on this very forum, it was inevitable that I'd be posting a picture of it here soon enough...

Plan is for it to have its first outing at Goodwood Revival smile
Very nice.

My old one had the mesh bracelet, but I think it looks even better on that strap.
No no no no no.

Mesh is the way forward. hehe

Just picked up this rather nice Seiko Rally Driver which has undergone restoration so is pretty immaculate. Needs a nice new strap though...

How have you found the Presage? I was ultra tempted as it seemed to offer excellent value for money, but I was put off by having 'Presage' on the front. More so than is particularly logical.
I really love it. To be honest I don't have much experience of Seiko to differentiate between the more high end ones vs the others, ie having the Presage badge. I went on google and after doing some research I really grew to like them

In the flesh they feel like quality and I get loads of positive comments from colleagues and friends. The SSA363J1 (the one in the pic you showed) is my daily and the other 3 models I will keep boxed for now. The SSA363J1 is also much nicer looking than in the pic I originally uploaded

I am sure you know a lot more about Seiko and the range variations, but I have no complaints. I liked the fact the ones I bought are the Japanese Domestic market ones, so they are a little more special in my view.

Well I bought just a Richard Legrand in Stealth black... thanks!

Can anyone recommend a decent black leather strap for it?

Thanks for the insight. I'd clarify that when i referred to the Presage badge, i literally meant having it written on it, rather than what it represents in terms of the Seiko hierarchy if that's what you thought I meant. I think it would look simpler and neater if it just said Seiko, given that it's at the dress watch end of the spectrum. Looking at them again i'm once again sorely tempted.

Ordered this over night.

I like it. It's a quartz this time. Under £72 delivered.

That is lovely! And so tempting, dammit I need to stop looking in this section of the forum.

That’s a great saving over the $1.2bn list price tongue out

More funky '70s Seiko goodness currently winging it's way from Japan. A King Seiko VANAC with the sharp language of design and cut crystal.

. I'd end up damaging it though; they look so delicate! Particularly that domed/proud crystal!
Beautiful watches so clean looking, but as said they damage so easily, twice I had to get mine replaced, and the main reason I sold it

This is a small concern, but it won't be worn that often to be fair.

I'll keep its delicacy in mind though and wear something more appropriate if I'm going to be working on cars or something.

I saw a picture of one on quite a weathered leather strap and it looked fantastic, I'm looking forward to trying it on a few different straps.

Gotcha, no inference intended on my part. Writing on the face is pretty small

The face on my watch has swirly patterns, much like brushed aluminium. In different light conditions it seems to change from white to more antique white.

I shopped for my watches on chrono24, bablas jewellers, shoppinginjapan.net and creation watches

Good luck with your decision

Thanks a lot. Love them both for sure. Should maybe not have bought the All Black Wyler, it’s impossible to read the time on it smile

Managed to snag myself one of these yesterday evening when the project became live on Kickstarter, such is the nature with these projects I'm going to have to wait until February to take delivery however I'm hoping it'll be worth it.

Which package did you go for? I was one of the fortunate 40 that got the low serial number deal, quite chuffed with that. Really happy for Ewan that his initial funding target was hit within 15min of kick-off, I see that it's over £65k now and closing in on his stretch target.

I picked these two up last week. I was a little disappointed they didn't have the blue faced one in stock too. The brown is actually really nice, much nicer than I was expecting.

The Seiko Boutique will be the death of my bank account...
