Got it. It's beautiful in an Ugly kind of way. If that makes sense. It's locked away now in a strong box until my birthday, end of next month.
The Mrs, "Are you going to wear it at your Birthday do?"
Me....."no chance everybody will think I'm a right flash tt"
She just shakes her head, "I can't stand it, you're concerned about what people think so your not putting it on but you love it. You're Hard work".
Ha. Good.

Something a bit different, probably first and last venture into the world of vintage watches. But I really liked it, it wasn't that expensive and I doubt I'll see another.
Yes, I realise it's probably a redial, as it's 68 years old.
Don't look at Chrono24 before a coffee in the morning.

Snap! I just got one too, I'll get some photos up later today. As you say, in the flesh it was a very easy decision, they're beautiful watches. I had a look at the SLA019 too, but I thought the dial was a bit small and the colour/shade of the green wasn't quite right.
I returned mine to Jura for a full return - just didn't feel worth the coin to me personally and I've had expensive Seiko's before so it wasn't a brand snobbery thing.
Haven't hit go yet but considering a box and papers pre-owned one of these for under 3K. Considerably less than RRP and a steal compared to the 007 Spectre version (which is ostensibly the same watch, barring a few dial/bezel tweeks. What do you think? I prefer it on the leather or a NATO so the lack of a bracelet doesn't bother me.

I completely get what you mean. They're a Seiko, not a Grand Seiko, and for me that difference is quite obvious. Still, for the time being I'm very happy with it, how long I keep it remains to be seen. So far, the dial and movement are enough to make it 'worth' the money to me. If I do come to sell it, I'm sure I'll get a good chunk of the money back.

Go for it!

So, after wanting to add a chronograph to replace an Ikepod that went missing when sent for service and deciding a Zenith/Blancpain/Jaeger was too much or a financial stretch I decided to stick to my habit of falling for things a bit left field.
A French manufacture watch is on its way
