"Samurai" and "Turtle" were both given by the community and later adopted by Seiko.
The Turtle one is the more rounded one, with the Samurai being the one with the sharp edges (makes some sense tbh).

Right. The Samurai is a slightly 'tighter', angled case, with oblong indices. The name, I believe comes from the minute and hour hands, and the 12 o'clock marker, resembling a sword, arrow head and shield.

The one on the left is referred to as the Turtle, owing to the wider, smoother and more rounded case design.

Honestly I like both, but I already have an SKX009 which has a similar bezel and round indices to the Turtle, so went for the sharper looking Samurai (which was also a bit cheaper).

Limited to 500 units apparently so seems like a decent buy.

No worries. I saw it posted on the Seiko subreddit, they were saying the ltd editions tend to sell out quite quick so I just ordered one rather impulsively

There's no such thing as an impulse purchase when it comes to watches, smithyithy. (That's what I keep telling myself, although 20 minutes from first seeing on Pistonheads to buying may be considered somewhat impulsive!)

Yeah, I was in the Seiko Boutique this afternoon and they had both, I decided to go for the Turtle as I don't currently have one at all.

The strap is Seiko, it comes with the Turtle (but not with the Samurai I don't think) and is dead comfy. Still, I think that I'll get a grey and orange NATO for it, that should look decent.

Yes, they are kind enough to offer a discount on some things. I was actually there buying a gift, and the discount was enough to make the Turtle effectively free, which was nice.
