I’ve had that (but with a shiny case) for a few years - yep, it’s a Seagull. It wore very well and kept excellent time. The crown ended up a bit stiff but apart from that a good watch. Gave it to a mate who still wears it.

Lovely watch and one I will buy if they stop moving the price above from my self imposed threshold.
Good luck with that one. I gave up looking. Even second-hand Submariners in Tokyo - where I currently am, for work - are over £6k second-hand.fk that.
Second hand is not an option for Rolex though as they are just as expensive. I have tried to convince myself it’s an investment but I have a fear of a crash.
Definitely "incoming" with a lower case "i" but I'm now on the waitlist for the black as well as the white ceramic Daytona.. I've been waiting for the white dial, plus a couple of GMT's (Pepsi and TT CHNR) and an SD50 for a while. Not holding my breath! I've been able to secure a Batman and a no date Sub this year though.

I did the same thing with the Tag Carrera 10 years ago. I couldn’t bring myself to pay the $1800 they wanted. By the time I had got over the price I went in and they had put the price up to $2300 the week before. I couldn’t pay $400 more on principal. It turned out my desire for sparkley things was more than my principals but by that time they had put the price up again and I was back to square one. In the case of Tag I looked at the second hand market and got an El Primero version that lists at $7800 (no one pays that much) for the same price. That’s what got me started in flipping watches.

If someone is willing to wait, and/or pay above list, then more power to them. I completely respect their decision and will share their joy in getting the watch that their patience and purchasing power has so richly deserved, and I mean that 100%.Second hand is not an option for Rolex though as they are just as expensive. It's just that for any number of reasons, I'm not that person.

My Dawn Grey turned up this morning, nice surprise!
Really please with it, I think it does feel that bit better quality than my SKX009, and it's still a large watch but feels to sit flatter on the wrist, very comfy. The Seiko bracelet is surprisingly decent, a little more rattly than my StrapCode, but I still plan to put a fabric / rubber one on this anyway..
I'll put a few more pics in the Seiko thread, save clogging this one up!
Could I bet very rude, and ask how much they cost (and where from)?Really please with it, I think it does feel that bit better quality than my SKX009, and it's still a large watch but feels to sit flatter on the wrist, very comfy. I was awake at 5am this morning and ended up browsing a microbrands group on Facebook. At 0518 8 ended up buying this:
£76, quartz ETA 802.102 movement, titanium case. With express shipping from Singapore, around £93 all in.
Boldr Venture.

Some other stuff I quite like on their site too.

They're £410, at least that's what Jura is selling them for, and the Turtle version is a little more. They're limited and sold out most places now I would think, but the Seiko Boutique might still have one or two if you were to call them. leglessAlex said:

Out of curiosity I just checked Chrono24 and there's 1 Turtle advertised at £800 in the UK

That's different. I don't know whether I love it or hate it. Definitely some wrist shots required when it arrives.
Well it's arrived. For the money it's a serious bit of kit. Feels very well made and of excellent quality.
In terms if size it is wearable, but at this stage the strap adds a bit too much buch bulk as it is very thick. I am hoping it will wear in.
