Gents, if one was to buy a watch from an eBay seller in the USA or Canada, would customs charge you additional money on arrival?
Yes, if the value is declared properly.edit: not sure what, if any, duty is owed but there will be 20% VAT at least

^ That’s intriguing. What is it?
Looks like a Dornbluth. I am selling mine at the moment and am having second thoughts - they are lovely things for the price point.
It is indeed a Dornbluth 99.0 and is simply lovely on the wrist
The appliques are great and the blued hands are not as blue as I had expected until you catch them at just the right angle, the open back is a new feature to me on a watch and is another superb feature.
Bit of an impulse buy in Brum today - pre-owned but un-worn 2018 Black Bay Bronze. It has already started to patinate slightly and has a tiny mark on the bezel near the '50' marker, but I got a hefty discount from the new price. My intention is to get it scruffy and worn-looking, so the tiny mark is pretty inconsequential (I'll probably do more damage the first time I knock it against something)
I wasn't sure whether 43mm would suit my skinny wrists, but it sits quite nicely
Best of all, Wifey was with me and sanctioned the purchase as an early Christmas pressie to myself (although she said she preferred it to my Sub, which hurt a bit...)

Customs are super vigilant for imports from the US, due to the availability of fire arms amo etc. I would say customs charges are guaranteed from the US, Asia seems to be the opposite, I have bought loads of watches, car parts etc from Asia and never had any charges.FreeLitres said:
I used to order a few watches from Creation in Singapore without any duties to pay. I however recently got stung for £30 duty/fees on a £100 Orient Bambino so I'm feeling cautious with imports now.
Be thankful that they didn't use Fedex. They charge about £30 quid handling fee on top.
