Well it had to happen

Following the sale of several watches including my seamaster and 2 other diver style watches

A few alcoholic beverages during x-mas and an unprotected laptop has now resulted in the purchase of

43mm Diver style watch with SS bracelet
300M to ISO 6425 standard
80Hr power reserve
Sapphire glass

All for less than £500

Should be with me on Thursday

Very nice.... I was lusting after one for a while. Very clever watch.

My 50's AVIA sporting it's sexy "Tropical/Patina" dial, still ticking away - may get a nice modern tan strap, and a service in the new year...

As reported on Tuesday night after a few drinks to many
The obligatory wrist shot

First thoughts are … The watch was heavier than I though, due to not being used to wearing a bracelet

Winding & Setting the time and date indicate a smooth quality movement,
Dial and indices are nicely fashioned & of quality appearance
Case, Glass & back all appear nicely finished except the case sides which are not polished but matt finished, (By design)
Bracelet is heavy & solid … Only disappointment being the clasp being pressed rather than cast, but it does have a divers suit micro enlargement built into the clasp
But for RRP I'd be happy and for less that £500 …. I've picked up a bargain biggrin

Are these that easy to fake then? I mean, there must be other ways to verify legitimacy other than a serial number check?
Not that actual model I would have thought due to the materials used etc.

Who knows though there’s some sneaky people about.

Gutted for you Martin , hope it all works out
Update..........days after that I got in touch with Hublot. They gave me the background on the watch and it’s all straight. Date it was Manufactured and where it was shipped to.

The watch dealer in the USA 🇺🇸 where it was originally purchased from did not bother registering the Sale on the Hublot portal. That was nice of them.

So all ended well. Appreciated the concern. Happy new Year buddy.

Picked this up this morning, I have a genuine Omega bracelet on its way as I don’t like the aftermarket strap. Also, the second hand has been painted red so I need to sort that out. Lovely thing though!

My old Oysterdate precision was traded in against this - thanks to SKJ watches in Dorchester.

What's the reference for that? I can't find it in my big book of Speedys.

A ‘sterile’ Parnis, only just over 40 quid and an automatic to boot. I’ll chuck the bracelet - can anyone recommend a leather strap that’ll look good? I was thinking ‘vintage’ thick black.

I'm really enjoying my new Bambino. It's my first "Dress watch" and first leather strap. It feels so different to my usual divers (Seamaster/Seiko Monster)

Looks great, don't remember it being that big, what wrist size?

It's 40.5 mm so bigger than a 36mm vintage watch. 6.75 inch wrist.
