Nothing majorly interesting, but my TomTom Spark gave up last week so picked up this Garmin Instinct.

Far more functionality than I'll need, but it's a gadget biggrin

The latest to my collection. Came with a blue fabric strap but managed to source a blue rubber one from a different edition from Mido service centre.

A second-hand 39mm steel Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Moon-phase I bought last week. I'm a sucker for a moon-phase and I like understated dress watches so this is right up my street.

Lovely.
Indeed. Right up my Avenue. I dare say a little out of my range re price though! Ah, aspirations!

Not a new incoming but just got my 2001 Colt Ocean 38mm back from a battery service. I haven’t worn the watch much in the last couple of years as it looks quite small by modern standards on the rubber dive strap, so I took the opportunity to upgrade to an OEM bracelet and it’s given the watch a new lease of life. The side links are polished so it’s considerably more blingy than my Colt Auto 41. Side by side you can really see how Breitling have toned things down over the last couple of years.

Some Internet snaps because the website photos are horrible (until I randomly tried one on I'd dismissed it as horribly over complicated and a bit tacky...) but I have a new one of these on its way shortly (assuming stock...)

Yes, a TAG, it's to commemorate my first year at a dream job where there's a sponsorship tie in, so it had to be a TAG, and I have a gap in my little collection of no blue dial, no stainless bracelet, and only one chronograph so it ticks a lot of boxes, as well as being quite obviously a TAG and thus a nice association.

There is a 'special edition' TAG based on the Heuer 01 but I just don't like how it looks, which is a shame as that would have been the most obvious way to commemorate the anniversary!

Very excited, looks so much better on than I expected smile

EDIT:

Yep, available for collection on Friday smile

3 out, 1 in. A 2009 Longines HydroConquest with an ETA 2824 movement.

10 minutes with a Cape Cod cloth snf it looks like new!

I really, really like it.

These older HCs aren’t quite as chunky as the latest ones. A lovely thing.

It's a mido ocean star in rose gold pvd. Bought it from jomashop, cost me us$579. Although it's classed as rose gold it's not too pink. In most lights it looks bronze or yellow gold.

However, I have changed the fabric strap to a blue rubber one (factory mido) with rose gold clasp. I was lucky to gain knowledge of the blue strap, as it's not a combo that has ever been sold by mido. The blue rubber was a special release for the Thai market and I just come across it by accident. The blue strap adds a totally different feel to the watch, that I prefer.

Here is a intro of the watch:

I have a plan for 2020* with regards to how I'm going to refine and reduce my collection and after having tried one of these on numerous times in ADs I've just completed a private sale deal for Tudor's blue Pelagos.

Seller's pic -

  • The plan was to sell some before I buy some, I appear to have fallen at the first hurdle...

Have just ordered one today on chrono24. Will be my 2nd Tudor, my other being the 79220N Black Bay. Can't wait

It'll be my 2nd as well, I bought a BB36 pretty much bang on 2 years ago.

I've never been that sure about the Pelagos until the last 6 months or so, I thought it to be too slab sided and lacking in character. The blue caught my eye when first launched and has been at the back of my mind since, as time has passed I've started to see the positives and the temptation has grown from there.

Fingers crossed it'll be with me tomorrow.

I went into my local AD to have look at a Tudor GMT - first time I had seen one in their window. In the event it left me cold- a shame as I thought I’d love it. Still, each to their own
However while there I fell in love with this :

I didn’t really need another watch but this is a addictive (and expensive) hobby. I blame this forum.

It's lovely, I quite agree, mine has relegated my planet ocean.
