New today.
I was looking for a tool / sports watch with a silver face and integrated rubber strap.
So of course I bought a blue dial with a brown leather strap
Alpina Alpiner 4 Automatic.

Arrived, a good choice
The strap is battered, so got the only strap that I wasn't using put on, which don't look too bad at all

What is a “Tool” watch and why would you need one??
A tool watch generally means a relatively inexpensive watch that you might wear whilst gardening or doing DIY - rather than wearing an expensive Patek or similar. It just means one that you're not too bothered to ding or scratch.NDA said:

"The phrase “tool watch” was originally coined to describe watches that serve as tools to accomplish specific tasks, such as a divers’ watch with a rotatable bezel and high resistance to pressure that is designed to be used underwater"
"Tool watches are a type of watch that has additional functions besides just telling the time. Although there really is no clear definition of a tool watch, it’s safe to say that this type of watch has features that accomplish specific tasks beyond simply keeping accurate time."
"Broadly known as “tool watches,” the category includes any timepiece intended to do something other and/or more than simply telling the time. From those that track multiple timezones to those equipped with rotating dive timer bezels"
But I'm guessing you knew that anyway.

Maybe they should make a tool watch to let you know when someone is taking the piss!! Lol
Christopher Ward did a 50% sale, which they previewed to existing customers. Used it to get one of these as I wanted an inexpensive vintage diver.
Bought the hand wind (Sellita movement) rather than the auto as I prefer this old fashioned face with the numerals (auto has a different face with round numeral indeces). Also quite liked the idea of a hand wind - I do not have one. £347, which given the quality of the build and finishing on my other watch from this manufacturer, is an absolute bargain.
Most of the watches they had in the preview are gone (I had wanted the green faced one, but they were all gine in minutes). They have a few more of the blue face left. Hope this link works for you:

Incredible value at that price too.
If you haven't had a hand wound before, it may catch you out by stopping initially until you get used to winding it. It did me

I nearly bought myself a Malvern hand wound but couldn’t really justify a 3rd CW, and a manual watch may well get tediousBought the hand wind (Sellita movement) rather than the auto as I prefer this old fashioned face with the numerals (auto has a different face with round numeral indeces). I bought one a few years ago when it came out. I also wasn't sure about the hand winding at first but it's become a nice part of the process now. I think the c65 punches way above it's weight and I've had lots of compliments on it. Picked up my tudor BB58 blue on release day and personally I love it. Didn’t get on with the Pelagos, the Rolex smurf is too expensive for me. This is spot on.

Me too. Wanted a blue faced watch for a while and I really like the simplicity of this one. I prefer the markers on this to the automatic version too. Arrived today and very pleased with it.Bought the hand wind (Sellita movement) rather than the auto as I prefer this old fashioned face with the numerals (auto has a different face with round numeral indeces).
