That's lovely - congrats.
Thanks smile

Just posted a 'photo in the Wrist Check thread. To be honest as much as I like the look of older Seikos I've always worn something more up-to-date, this one however has left me wondering if the floodgates are about to open biggrin

Realised I had not worn my Dad’s old Smiths since Lockdown started ........ nearly 70 years old and still going strong!
I also have my Dad's watch. Not anything special. I must dig it out and take a pic.

They are special because they are our fathers watches smile

Absolutely. Here’s mine. It was a birthday present to my dad from my mum back in 1976. He then wore it to work on a building site for the next 20-odd years and it looked a bit of a state.

My parents had it serviced and reconditioned for my 30th birthday back in 2009 and it’s still keeping good time now.

I've managed to find a new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 11 from an Omega boutique.
Very pleased.

Slightly larger than the standard (41mm) and I wasn't sure about the gold accents, but it looks much better in real life.

Anyone else have one?

Quick question on thread rules .....

Do I post in the "Incoming..what do you have?" thread if the watch is an x-mas present for my (non horological geek) brother?

If so .... Does this mean I've fallen off the non watch buying wagon? .... AGAINhehe

Absolutely nothing special, but an O’Neill quartz diver brand new for approximately £35.

Comes with a fabric and a Milanese strap.

If they made an SC, MK or Tekken one, I'd have it in a heartbeat tbh hehe
I'm a sucker for the SKX range and a splash of colour.

A 1960 Bucherer.

The intention is to give it a tidy, not a full resto but a case polish, service and clean the dial. Not sure what movement it has but I suspect an ETA of some sort (2472?).

I like left field stuff, so the grown up collection will hopefully include a Ulysee of some sort, rather than the usual fayre.

i also have an Valjoux 7750 on the way, which I intend to use to build my own watch. This may not end well.

A new one arrived for me a couple of months ago and I thought I’d show it here.

It’s an unusual Seamaster 60 with the F300 tuning fork movement. I really like that the movement is different and works reliably. You can hear it hum when it’s held to your ear!

For a watch that’s 40 years old, i think it still looks reasonably modern. I really like the look of some of the omegas from the 70’s along with an integrated bracelet, just need to add a few more to my collection as time goes on

You're one of the good guys T6, so I choose not to reply to your question on the grounds I may incriminate myself... smile
