Great watch. I have it myself but on the original strap.

Your choice but I’m not keen on it.

Not keen on metal bracelets, all my watches are on rubber or leather straps.

Just ordered a Stowa Vintage Flieger Bronze 36mm:

This is with the hand wind movement option (SW215) not the ETA 2824-2 shown above:

So many times I've browsed Stowa's website and admired that model, there's a possibility that I may chop in my steel 40mm for the bronze. There was a 'photo of a green dialed bronze flieger on FB's Stowa Fan Group a few days back, there's no news on Stowa's site though if they release it the temptation may be too great. I know that the green isn't in keeping with the genre but it looks oh so smart.

Stowa seem to be very good with customer service and you may well be able to request the green dial specifically on your chosen watch, of course at any extra cost but the possibility to customer is certainly there with them!

I'm umming and ahhing if I should request the Type-B dial on mine as it's still not shipped yet as it's being made. I already have a Laco with Type-B so would be coll to have the Type-A on the Stowa to complete the combo I suppose.

^^^ I emailed them earlier this evening smile

As for yours, if it's a 36mm then the B dial may look too squashed and cramped, it would have a really short hour hand! I'd stick with what you've ordered, personally.

Ahh yes that's a good point. I have the Hamilton Khaki Pilot 36mm too and that is just about right with how big the handset/dial etc is si yeah a B dial on something that size as you say may well feel too cramped!

Stowa's bronze cased green dialed Flieger, with a lumed bronze handset, to be available "within the next few weeks" according to Stowa themselves, thoughtfully they've provided me with a 50euro personalised discount code though that expires within 2 weeks... Its launch will be announced via their newsletter.

Now, do I use that code on the 'regular' 40mm bronze, which still looks amazing, or even the blue dialed model with its polished steel bezel and top surfaces...? I shouldn't really be buying anything hehe

Get it done!

If your code expires before the new one releases then my order came with a free 40 euro off voucher which am assuming will be in the package when it arrives soon and I won't be buying another watch for some time so will have expired by then. You're welcome to have the code to use if you like.

Which one? biggrin

That's very decent of you, thanks smile I'm waiting for a couple of doing-up-my-house related quotes, if they're around the £ I think they'll be there may be some money left over for something - let's see how it pans out.

I love GMT watches and that is one stunning watch. I really need to find a Seiko Ad that does Grand Seiko as I think I would like to try one .
Absolutely stunning thanks for sharing
cheers, it's actually growing on me more and more as time goes by. If you can find a GS outlet it's well worth the time, the team in Paris were certainly absolutely perfect.

It absolutely did; I’m grateful.

If the AD had levelled and invited a deal, it would have been different, but the thing was mis-sold and in a pretty cynical way. Which the sales person’s floor manager has acknowledged without quibbling.

My own fault in a way, being swayed by sales to go for something other than what I enquired about (the 01389). Had done my homework on that and not really paid any attention to the 00692 (on account of the synthetic case - ironically).

Just when you think you’re an informed buyer; lesson learned.

You're not alone...

After my PAM305 got stolen - I left it for a (grumpy) month or two before my mrs offered to replace it

After some deliberation I opted for a PAM614 but I knew it was being discontinued. After much searching by my friendly OD they sourced one and I snapped it up thinking I was lucky until I realised it was 2 years old. I found solace in the fact it was one of the ones available.

That was two years ago and they're still selling them under 'limited availability' - anything left much be how old??

Anyways - glad you got it resolved. I'm still tempted BTW!
