Got to love a skeletonised dial

That's pretty cool! Kind of like a Bulova Accutron Spaceview - this post has made me contact someone to get mine looked at actually as it keeps stopping.

And a tangential google has revealed that Bulova has revived the Accutron brand with a fancy whizzy movement I don't understand.

Not a "true" GMT as such; it's the GMT hand which is quick set.
Thanks. I am on the look out for 'true' GMT watches. The only ones I am aware of are Rolex GMT Master & Explorer. Omega Seamaster GMTs. Maybe Tudor GMTs? and the Seiko Sportura kinetic GMT.

Being the only one south of £3-5k I have the Seiko. If anyone is aware of any others please let me know.

Have you seen the ridiculous prices asked for these on the grey market? When I asked my AD for one (an age ago) I never thought it might be an 'investment'. (This one's a keeper anyhow; I'm smitten with it.) OPs are now regarded as part of the Rolex 'professional' range apparently. Demand high (accessible price), supply limited; you know the rest...
Very nice. I'm after a 36mm one for my wife for a big occasion.
Sort of snap. I asked for a 36 as well for my wife so we have 'his and hers'. biggrin Mine turned up first.

I kind of had a watch related plan for this year and it didn't include getting myself Sinn's 103 A Sa.

Oh well.

biggrin

This will be my 6th Sinn. A 757, GSG9 UX and a 556 Mocha have been and gone and the 103 will sit alongside my EZM13 and 104 St Sa ABE, for now at least.

Have a look at the Mido Ocean Star GMT. You will need to buy from the EU though. A true GMT and for less than £1,000.

There was a thread age's ago .. the £100k 3 watches 'garage' thread, & I put the this watch into my selection .. It's been a 'want' watch of mine for a while.
Now unfortunately I'm by no means a wealthy person, A meager modest factory worker and not the reported PH director I portray.
Infact background, employment and soon lack of etc I have no right to spend that much on a watch

So never thought I'd be in a position to own one.

A few years ago I shrimped & saved & bought a nice watch for £5k that I thought would hold / increase in value,
This year their value has gone mental in price - so with a heavy heart my Snoopy has gone,
The sale of the Snoopy paid for this new monstrosity watch, the other Electricianz watch & deposited £2.5k into my piggy bank,
So in essence I have a £40k genuine ~£20k watch for a "cost to change" of about £2.5k

TL:DR - Sold 1 watch - Bought another & still have a pocket full of change

Knowing the above I'm sure you'll be gentle with the critiquing once it arrives smile

Fair play. I have to say that I tend to assume that 'eclectic' stuff will lose value really fast, but I've never made money on a watch, so I'm no expert.

I'm also not brave enough to wear the stuff towards which you gravitate, but it's a broad church, and I applaud your particular approach to it. smile

I'll never like a Speedmaster though, and even though I have a strong connection to a Moonwatch, I won't own one

Like most ... We buy what we like,

I've got the Seiko & Breitling for the sensible days

If it haemorrhages value then I like it for what it is and it'll be with me forever
If it gains value then at some point it 'just makes sense' to move it on and acquire an upgrade

Most people don't notice what's on your wrist - and those that do notice my 'eclectic' stuff generally comment positively smile

What's the eta on the Formex??

fknose,

The email I got with the order said "Shipping at the end of May", although I placed the order on Saturday 29th. Their website says next shipping is 'mid June'.

They took the money from my account today, so hopefully they're going to ship soon...

That is very interesting thank you! I wonder if the release of this new ETA movement will make it easier for more "budget" watches to have a True GMT movement.

Oh that's really nice! I really like that style of font, I think they're Breguet numerals, or very similar?

My watch is still in Fedex Stanstead

Steer clear of a black VW van on the M25 tomorrow,

Both my OceanX watches were delayed for a while at Stansted at the start of the year, one watch came from the Netherlands and the other Denmark IIRC. Can't remember the couriers, I think one was UPS, either way they took one to two weeks once landed to get to my front door.
