I saw a few rolex liveried horse and carts with guests last week near st James. Was this the same event?
Seemed a bit ott, spotted a few full rose and yellow gold watches on guests both male and female which felt a bit risky.
Maybe, wasn’t happening the day I went but maybe a different dealer Seemed a bit ott, spotted a few full rose and yellow gold watches on guests both male and female which felt a bit risky.

Is that 3 in the last month??
Yes . The SBGX261 is such a fabulous thing, it really turned me on to the 9F movement. Then the SBGN003, which I gave to my better half. It's a really lovely watch and I doubt I will get to use it much. So, enter SBGN009G. It's in between size wise and is interesting (to me) and a limited run model.
All three of them, although not pennies are less than half of the budget I allocated to buying an Air-King. I don't expect them to make money, but I really like all of them for different reasons.
Anyway. I'm off for therapy now

When are you getting an SBGV245?
Next month The 245 is stunning, they are firming up price wise.
After this one, I really want the skyflake, it's a watch I have looked at for ages and ages. After that the moonwatch, it's just a perfect thing.
Maybe the next one will be JLC Master?
I would buy a Rolex tomorrow tbh, love the explorer, explorer 2 and GMT, but, you know....

This may be the beginning of the end of the brand (for me). Imean, I like mine (and one was a gift so will not be sold), but not that interested in them (especially given their realisable second hand value), if Rolex are also now synonymous with pony rides for the cheesiest of owners in a part of London synonymous with crass exhibitionism. There are many idiots in Porsche and Ferrari - it wouldn't put me off.It is just a watch, buy it, wear it, for what it is. As you know, I have one Rolex, which I really like for the mechanism and robustness - I am not really interested in the 'brand' or what some throbber on YouTube is wearing.
Well I turn 40 today and both my mum and my partner asked me what I wanted. Well I've had my eye on two different watches since early this year.
So from my mum, I received a Straton Speciale and my other half bought me a Straton Daily Driver. I'm over the moon with both, they're quite different from my usual styles, both use a Seiko mecha-quartz and both motoring inspired.
If you've not come across Straton, they're a US brand that caught my eye end of last year. Some really cool designs and new ones coming too. The owner is also a total petrol head which is pretty cool. It's his Alfa on the caseback on the Daily Driver.
