What watches have you been obessing over?
Discussion
So I'm a newcomer to these parts, just coming in as my Mrs wanted a new watch. Now I am obsessing about various watches - this part of PH is bad for your wallet!
Since 'arriving' here I have my eye on a vintage Rolex Explorer for my year of birth
I've sent off for a Dornbluth catalogue as I quite fancy this one
I'm viewing a Panerai PAM00423 when I go to Hong Kong at the end of the month (assuming it's still available)
And I've just put a deposit on a new Rolex for the Mrs
Note to self: STOP OBESSING ABOUT WATCHES.
I only have an Oris which was perfectly adequate until recently......

Lovely topic, fits just as well here as in GG (with cars, mind you).
This has been on my mind lately:

Mainly because I have one set aside for me, will be delivered when I go abroad to Afghanistan later this year.
Got a reasonable discount as I bought some beautiful earrings for the girlfriend at the same time.

Think I will ask for one for my 21st...
Going to get my Dads old Seiko diver out of the loft and repaired - was fascinated by it as a child.
Quite fancy this too...
What do we reckon? Looks good, but unserviced... Worth the risk? Tempted.

Some nice choices there - I really like the Christopher Ward watches.Going to get my Dads old Seiko diver out of the loft and repaired - was fascinated by it as a child.

I reckon that Seiko divers watch on eBay has to be worth a punt for £85....go on you know you want to!

What model is this one, it is looooooovely.
It's a Swiss Hunter Team Limited Edition. They made 1958 watches to commemorate the year the Hunter was brought into service. Each watch is individually numnbered. It's quite cool as it comes with a replica Hunter ejection seat safety pull pin.No new ones on sale, but there are some in the pre owened market.

My mens Roman dial is like that. I presume they do it for symmetry - to balance the VIII on the other side.
Any also, maybe becuase it has a diamond VI at the bottom which is quite prominent? Haven't seen the standard roman numeral dial witout the diamond sixRiff Raff said:
