What happened that required that much to put right?
No idea. I just picked up a perfect original 1987 Gold Sub.
Details from the invoice from Rolex UK were, from memory, a large chunk of it was called "Full Geneva Rebuild" - circa £3500. (God know what that involves). PLUS a replacement link with new Bezel (Hands and Dial are still original from 1987.)

Thanks, it must have had some quite serious damage!

15300 is a lovely watch - much nicer than the 15400 IMO.

Not quite as nice as a 15202 though biggrin
5402, surely.

Two tasteless AP Royal Oaks…

Dubai Watch Week. Takes all sorts I suppose.

I’m not especially an AP fan but I thought I liked the Code 11.59 range. But the case thickness is huge regardless of model. Really liked the look of the RO ultra thin though.

No, interesting how perceptions and the market changed though over 10 years.

Wow just seen this thread I started pop back up after 10 years. Those Dubai show watches are surely for the ‘Dubai scene’, whatever that is.

Meanwhile whilst I haven’t bought an AP I’ve had my eye one one of these for 3 of the last 10 years..

my RO Chrono broke three times,

first didnt keep time - refused warranty - grand bill to service
second they didnt seal it properly and had condensation in it - free but few months
third didnt keep time - free but few months

eventually replaced the whole movement

works fine now
