Really? I prefer a watch with a new Rolex service card over one without one and papers that are years old.
The latter watch may have been bodged about with by all and sundry or be nicked. One newly serviced by Rolex will be mechanically correct and checked for having been thieved.
Not true any more.. Rolex stopped the lost/stolen register when the old service manager left, any watch stolen or otherwise could pass through their doors now The latter watch may have been bodged about with by all and sundry or be nicked. One newly serviced by Rolex will be mechanically correct and checked for having been thieved.
Ecain - so is your guy actually Rolex Accredited - sounds pretty vague?

He is certified by rolex and has access to rolex parts on account. Because he is a self employed contractor he cannot be classed as an accredited rolex service agent as he works to his own routine. I call him when I need him and he comes in to work his magic. As I said earlier, he used to be a senior watchmaker for Watches of Switzerland and has tickets for most of the major prestige brands. bristolbaron said:

They certainly do.
Can you expand on this or is it just "Yes" they do check? I did pop down to the West Malling centre to get them to check a serial number for me for last serviced date in the hope that it would also come up if it was marked as stolen. Now there seems to be some doubt about whether they do or do not keep a lost and stolen register.Pip

Dealers can access the register and my local AD will check a watch for me, for an unethical fee.
