Omega Seamaster 300m - Discounts / Best Deals
Discussion
I'm in the market for a Seamaster 300m - 212.30.41.20.03.001
This will be my first "proper" watch purchase and I'm just wondering what kind of realistic discounts others have managed to negotiate.
I've seen a few online retailers selling for £2.1k ish... but unsure how trustworthy these places are. I would prefer to purchase via the high street if possible.
Any thoughts and experiences appreciated.

I managed 13% through a UK AD about 18 months ago. Came out at just over £2400.
You'll get a better deal through Dominic Hackett (Hackett Watches).
I'd check Iconic Watches as well; they're just over £2135.

Thanks, I've seen the Iconic watches deal. Has anyone dealt with them in the past?I called into there shop when looking for my last watch purchase. The only reason I didn't buy from them was I needed a longer strap than the one supplied on the watch I was interested in and not being an authorised dealer then couldn't swap it out. Unfortunately the price of a new large strap exceeded the discount they where offering.
I may be wrong but I got the impression that they source there stock from overseas, Not that it makes any difference to the product I guess but the watch I was interested in looked to have come from the middle east.

I wonder if that makes any difference for warranty claims etc?Has anyone managed to get one of the big high street chains to price match Iconic or similar?
I picked mine up from Jersey in Summer 2013.
After a bit of haggling, it worked out to £2k, with the GST refund.
I did forget to show it to the customs bods at the airport.
Conveniently remembered when I left the airport car park. Couldn't go back by then...
Could do a day trip to there perhaps?

It doesn't make any difference, they are normally European sourced watches and the warranty is unaffected. I'm sure it tells you on Iconic, how they manage to source them. I haven't personally dealt with them, but have seen plenty on TZ-UK who have; I'd have no hesitation in dealing with them at all.Has anyone managed to get one of the big high street chains to price match Iconic or similar?
I would say your chance of getting a price match is pretty much zilch, unless you are a regular buyer at an AD.
I was unknown to mine and was happy with what I achieved, they offered 10% and I asked for 15%, they met in the middle and rounded to 13%.
If you want much more off, I'd go abroad; Jersey, Spain, Italy would be your best bets I suspect.
I got a Tag (for my wife!!) from KC Watches. Warranty was fine, it had to go back and manufacturer took it in for repair no questions asked.
Price good, delivery was a couple of weeks from the order date.
On the subject of Seamasters, I got mine (300m chrono) at 25% discount for £2k from an AD - Laings in Edinburgh, in summer 2011.

So, it's been nearly 3 years since I started this thread and with my 30th next week it's long overdue getting a seamaster on my wrist.
I'm not convinced by the new Seamaster launched at Baselworld last month, it think it looks a bit fussy and the new waves don't look quite right.
It seems that prices have crept a few hundred since I was last looking, however with the new model inbound I'm looking for a deal. Where should I be looking and what kind of discount should I be aiming for?

Thanks, I saw that earlier in the week... but the strap looked quite scuffed. I will drop them an email later for more info though. Thanks.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
