Thanks, I saw that earlier in the week... but the strap looked quite scuffed. I will drop them an email later for more info though. Thanks.
The ad says it's new so I would assume it's not scuffed plus looks like he's got a couple of them in to chose from.

The bracelets on these do mark easily. Mine (especially the clasp) looks like someone's been at it with 80 grit sandpaper.

They can be refinished though. But then they just mark up again!

Mines about 4 yrs old now. I’d never be without it. I think I prefer it to the new one as well (not that I’ve physically seen one yet).

This arrived in the post this morning, very pleased indeed. Dom H sorted me out and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Thinking about buying a Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m (007 spectre editon), I have seen one in a local dealer for £4380 a dealer who my mum and dad have been using for years.

I've seen them online for between £4,000 and 5,000 what would you guys say is the sweet spot for these price wise? I'd like to buy one that isn't going to loose money, but potentially make a little over a few years.

I've never bought an "expensive" watch before, I recently inherited a Rolex from my late father, up until then didn't even wear a watch but I've been wearing the Rolex every day since.

When I was in getting it adjusted I spotted this Omega in the cabinet, I'm a James Bond fan so it caught my eye and really like the blue/yellow colour scheme.

Are they from reputable dealers? Don't really fancy just buying one from Ebay etc.

Ebay prices are a good guide as to what to expect when you come to sell so are an indicator of depreciation.
Dealers always put a premium on.
Watchfinders (not known to be cheap but are reputable) have one for a shade over £4k
http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Omega/Aqua%20Terra%20...

You could probably negotiate the price down from there to sub £4k or if lucky £3.9k

Back here now, actually want a Seamaster 300 now in blue. Was going to get second hand but fancy a brand new one now.

Anybody managed to get a discount from dealers such as Ernest Jones, Goldsmiths etc or that a no go?

I see no reason you wouldn't get at least 10% off - I'd aim for more. But you might get more / less than strangers off the internet. You need to get out there and see what your local AD will offer. DH is also a good shout.

I went for a brand new Seamaster 300m 41mm in the end, reason for getting new even though I could get a lot cheaper 2nd hand was the fact its my first "expensive" watch purchase, I want to be able to look back in 10 years when approaching my 40th and say I bought that 10 years ago when approaching my 30th. Every bit of damage on it has been done by me!

the 2nd reason is the fact they offered 0% interest, means I can splash the cash slightly later in the year on the Tudor BB GMT hopefully (if dealer gets enough for order books)

Another vote for Dom from me, very pleased with my deal a few years back. Can absolutely vouch for him.

I emailed DOM and got an almost instant response, actually I forgot to respond to it as was asleep (night shifts)

If I was buying it cash, would of bought it from Dom as would of saved about £200 but decided to do the 0% to leave the cash for the Tudor BB GMT.
