surely uncomfortable, on you and the mrs.
I'm sure mine would complain of it being cold/scratching.
There's a really smutty joke in there somewhere....I'm sure mine would complain of it being cold/scratching.
However, no, she's never noticed it being cold (its close to body temperature as its always on) and for it to scratch her would suggest some kind of intimacy going on...

Some people buy nice things because THEY want to enjoy them, not because they want other people to see it.

But you admitted in the first post that you were disappointed that the watch didn't garner more attention. Then you 'discover' that the joy of owning it is actually internal.
I'm happy to admit that I initially wanted people to notice it (well some people - I really wasn't looking forward to explaining it to Wifey)However, I quickly realised that the joy was in knowing, not showing.
Wifey still doesn't know (or maybe she does, but just doesn't care). As for a piccy in her new riding boots, do you want JUST her new riding boots?.....

why do the professionals in charge of the brand spend untold millions plastering the brand all over F1, yet expend so little effort telling us how well they are made?
That's pretty hypocritical coming from a man who owns two S Class Mercs - I seem to recall that they spend a bob or two in F1....Interesting timing for this thread resurrection - it is three years today since I bought my Sub. It still hasn’t been off my wrist and I still enjoy it.
It’s probably worth a decent amount more than I paid for it, which is welcome, but irrelevant, at least for the time being.
However, I’m still surprised how much hate there is for a Rolex. I’d expect such polarisation if we were talking about footy teams, or Holden v Ford, but not about a watch that 95% of people can’t tell apart from a £50 Timex.
Each to their own, etc.....

I'm looking forward to Nigel_O's Two years with "my second Rolex."
Not going to happen any time soon....However, if my numbers come up this week, I really fancy a rose gold Yachtmaster on an Everflex bracelet. This would surely polarise opinion even more than the Sub
Ah- I forgot an update....
My youngest son is also into his watches and last year bought a no-date Sub identical to mine. He's now looking for a Hulk, but that's another story. While he was at our house one weekend, he commented to his mother that his Rolex was "just like Dad's...". This was the first that Wifey knew about the watch that had been on my wrist for over two years at this point.
Her response was surprising - she just said "oh, you have one too?" and left it at that. Man-logic is taking that as approval for the Yachtmaster.
