Thanks. Did you buy yours direct from Damasko?
Mine was pre-owned purchased through a dedicated watch forum, I paid £550 IIRC two years ago this coming January.

If you like the look of the bracelet then I'd say go for it, I've one on my DA44. There's absolutely no micro-adjustment whatsoever however Damasko supply sizing links, tiny allen headed screws are used to keep the links together and it's an easy DIY job to change them with the Damasko supplied tool.

The bracelet certainly sounds very well engineered. Might swing the choice towards the steel case over black.

Will hold out until after Xmas and see if Jura have a sale I think...

^^^ A great choice, get it on the bracelet and you still have the option of buying other straps as well.

It would pretty much make the perfect one-watch solution, if such a thing existed biggrin

Well Jura had 15% off yesterday and I got all excited and ready to order...

Annoyingly their discounts do not apply to Damasko watches!! frown

Tell me about it. I was seriously considering Damasko's new DSub2 when I saw that offer then noticed that Damasko, and a good few others, aren't included.

So I bought something else from somewhere else instead biggrin

BTW I've just re-read my post about the bracelet links - they're actually torx-like heads rather than allen smash

Thinking of selling my DA36, as I've moved to a smart watch.

What forum would be best to advertise it on?

I can finally update this thread with my own Damasko experiences. It will not be brief!

I wanted to buy new for a few reasons (I wanted it engraved, properly, at the factory being the main one). Given the choice of the two official retailers in the U.K, and given this would be my first 'proper' watch purchase, I wanted to pick the best option of the two.

Given the numerous forum threads about less than stellar experiences with Page and Cooper, I decided to choose the 'other one'.

I ordered my watch on 9th February. As it was not a stocked item at this sellers website (nor P&C's) the lead time was 7 - 10 days for delivery.

As I wanted it specially engraved to mark a sad occasion in my life, I placed the order by phone directly - we talked about if it was possible to be engraved by Damasko as obviously it would be tough to engrave out the factory given the supposed hardend steel case back. If it was not possible then it was agreed I would just take the watch as it was.

After three weeks had passed, I got back in touch to see what was happening. The sellers representative hadn't heard anything back as to whether it was possible to engrave or not or whether the watch was coming plain. They would chase it up...

Turns out they had emailed someone who was on maternity and therefore nothing had been read/action whatsoever. This may or may not have been an excuse but whatever, someone else was emailed and we were back on track...

Fast forward another month, still no watch or even a definitive answer about the engravement possibilities. More emails are exchanged, all originating my side I should stress. More promises about chasing up...

Another three weeks later (this is roughly middle of April now) and finally some actual news! The watch is ready to be shipped! However the latest batch of bracelets had some quality issues and Damasko were not prepared to ship until a new batch had been manufactured. A new batch of bracelets would be five weeks...

They offered withhold shipping until the bracelet was ready or send the watch on one of their leather straps as temporary solution. I took the leather strap option as I was so sick and tired of the whole process, I just wanted something. This was 17th April...

The watch arrives 5th May. I was delighted to finally find out that engravement was possible!

I contacted the seller six weeks after the five weeks of bracelet time had passed. Seems Damasko had 'forgotten' to send it with that weeks shipment. It finally arrived at the shop the week after but they hadn't sent the bracelet resizing tool, so another week or so before that arrives and the bracelet order could be shipped to me...

It essentially took until nearly the end of June before the whole package was with me and intact. The bracelet resizing tool looked like a old one they had just picked up from the workshop and chucked in a parcel but at least it worked.

The whole process was terrible. It was always me having to contact and chase them and I never had a straight answer until the guy I was dealing with left the business and an actual helpful person replaced him. I was constantly fobbed off with the excuse that Damasko are a 'small family company'...I know that, no one orders a Damasko without knowing about the brand and that is still not an excuse for terrible service! There was rarely a definitive answer given or timeline stuck to.

Quite frankly I hope I never have to deal with either party again based on this experience. It has tainted what was supposed to be a nice little remembrance gift to myself and a token of a making it through a hard year last year.

I want to support smaller, less well known brands, but if this is mark of how you get treated then I might as well just go and buy a TAG from Goldsmiths.

I am sure once the fury has passed I bond with me DA36 properly, but we are off to a difficult start.

Why didn’t you contact Damasko directly?
I’ve often bypassed the distributor/reseller of products, in order that I can get a definitive answer in as short a timeframe as possible.
These days, I’ve found patience is never a virtue, but simply a mechanism for losing whatever interest there was initially, and in your case, I’d have given up long before April ever came into view.

On the basis of what’s been written online in relation to them, Damasko would be well advised to find better resellers for the UK or employ a couple of extra staff for handling direct sales, just like Steinhart.
As it stands currently, they don’t seem overly perturbed by the remarks, so maybe P&C and Ch’Mas’ are a perfect match for one another.

If you haven’t already had the watch engraved, personally, I’d flog it, and buy a much better experience with which to reward yourself for coming out the other side of a bad year. Each time you look at the Damasko, you’ll be reminded of all the hassle you had to endure to get a simple commodity.

A mixture of low intelligence, patience and it not being a massive priority among the other stuff I had on. As I said it's the first experience of dealing with J**a or a watch over £200 so it's a learning curve.

It's engraved already and I love the watch, the negativity will dissipate over time. I happened to deal direct with Damasko this week and have to say they were quick and polite to get my spare parts ordered, some redemption on their part. The majority of the delay did seem to stem with the official dealer whom I will definitely never use again or recommend.

Only just read this...

That's pee poor customer service, no wonder you were miffed. As I was reading your post I was wondering if it was the company you referred to above, and when you mentioned that one person left and another took their place that ruled out Chronomaster as I'm pretty sure he's a one man band.

Glad to hear that it was engraved and that you're happy with the product if not the service, you just need to post a 'photo now wink

Oh, and if it's not too an intrusive a question, what was it you had engraved?

Just to be clear, I have never dealt with Chronomaster or Page & Cooper, I did not realise Chronomaster was an official stockist for Damasko and certainly do not want people to assume it was them who is at question here. I dealt with the one named after a Scottish island famous for producing brown alcohol.

My engraving was a name and some dates to commemorate the life of my best mate...

I would go via chronomaster. You can go direct and damasko are very good in my experience, but sorting international courier with enough cover wasn't straight forward.

It appears a new Damasko (the snappily named DC 86/2) is due soon:
