Watchfinder now asking £8150 for used 2013/2014/2015 watches, £8450 for used 2016/2017, and £8750 for new unworn!

12 months ago they were grey at £7k-£7250, so I can see these continuing to only go one way.

I still love mine, and have no wish to sell it, but it's made me think about how many times and when I wear it etc.
Bloody hell!

Grey prices have been slowly creeping up to north of £8k, so if you did get one after only one day then you have been very lucky, or as it's your 1st post, I call custard...

wink
I spoke to my AD at 9am on Wednesday morning about an SD43. Didn’t say I definitely wanted one, just asked about wait times. I had a call just before 5pm the same day to say one had arrived, and it was mine if I wanted it. Naturally, I couldn’t resist.

I would call custard on that post too, but a lot of ADs had some pretty big deliveries on Wednesday and Thursday this week, so he probably isn’t lying.
I’m deadly serious, phoned watches of Switzerland on the Wednesday picked it up on the Thursday. I did think the whole “waiting list” thing was just a sales pitch. Got no reason to lie to strangers.

I'm guilty of buying one at a premium maybe 4 months ago? Mine was brand new/unworn etc from Watchfinder and I paid £7250.

For me I wanted a steel sports watch and didn't want to settle for a normal sub/GMT so I jumped in, sounds like a did at the right time perhaps.

Do we think that another steady increase in price is down to the supposed limited stock that comes with xmas time?

I think all the steel sports watches will gradually lose their premiums and any subsequent official price rise will help narrow the gap further. 18 months ago all these watches could be had unworn, immediately, and at list from an AD or grey dealer. There was a time when the previous model Daytona attracted a premium but the air eventually leaked out of that bubble. I see no reason to see why this time should be any different.

RRP is £6550.

I definitely wouldn’t be paying over £8k for one - I think prices will probably dip a little in January.
Thanks

Still no price hike then.

I paid £6500 last year from Barbados AD. Love this watch, dont really wear anything else these days

This company has some seriously good watches in stock, an unworn Pepsi GMT from 2001, some early Subs etc.

Back in 2002 when i purchased my Sea-dweller the other option was the Pepsi GMT and i do regret not getting it!

https://www.ukspecialistwatches.co.uk/shop/rolex-w...

May inquire and see if i can do a trade.

More of a fad / mini bubble in my opinion compared to Steel or Ceramic daytonas (As an quick example), surprised if the BLNR continues to rise for a lengthy period of time and I expect it drop personally. Watchfinder is not a measure of the market value.

Saw a steel GMT w/ the black ceramic bezel in an AD in Prague last week (opposite the Radisson if anyone's interested) for EUR7.7k which sounded toppy to me and ducked it. Wise move do we think ?

Yes, £6250.00 from AD here and not as hard to get as the internet makes out.

With that conversion the one you saw is approx. £6875.00.

Cool ty. It was indeed the immediate delivery premium I wasn't sure about.

Will Rolex not swap the dial out for you?
I was in a Rolex dealer looking at a blue and black face datejust and was told ist ok cos Rolex will swap dials if you want.
I’ve not asked, I probably should.

Now that I’ve the new one, though, I don’t know if I’ll ever wear it.

+1 about waiting lists not being all that, I put my name down the week before last at a few places for a non date sub expecting not to get one anywhere and got a call on Monday from WoS saying they had just got one in and it was mine if I wanted it.

I picked it up last night and asked what the situation was with the box and papers - they said they were mine and they wouldn't ever keep them, apparently Rolex themselves are unimpressed at dealers doing this.

I also never realised Rolex was a non profit organisation!

Well i've ordered a ceramic daytona today, arriving tomorrow and may be tempted to sell my BLNR.

Should be interesting to see if i'll get any decent bids for it.

Absolutely love it but i have a feeling that i'll just end up wearing the daytona from now on...

I'm in a similar situation, I'm going to have to sell some watches some time in the new year and I think I want to end up with my white dial ceramic Daytona meaning selling the BLNR amongst a couple of others, I didn't get any kind of deal on the BLNR so if I'm in a position to buy another in the future it will just be a matter of waiting where as I've bought 2 white dial Ceramic Daytonas in the last year and very much doubt I'll ever manage to secure a third one, I think the Daytona will make an amazing long term prospect and if I ended up with a few great watches it would be that and maybe my 2011 pre ceramic Sub and maybe my 67 Metres first Sub!

I Love the BLNR but it's easier to replace than the others if I have the money to buy one!

I've bypassed the BLNR as I don't really like it, but have started a list with my local AD in case a GMT 'Coke' comes up in Basel '18!

A steel coke or pepsi is never gonna happen. Rolex just love to tease us.

Rolex are 'unimpressed' with dealers handing over the items you've just bought and paid for? Really..? confused

Or have I read that the wrong way round and Rolex are unimpressed with dealers hanging on to them (surely no one buys a watch and then accepts not getting everything they've paid for do they)?
