I've managed to get two of these now, so as above it will be interesting to see what I'll be offered for one. The idea of a free watch for a year or so sounds interesting!
12 months ago people could get them in 3 or 4 months months, but you cannot even get a basic SUB atm now some state 12 months !!

could be the new movement going into all the sports watch's so no production until then, but the markets as dry as it's ever been imo.

Watch finder and the likes are selling LV, Hulk and BNLR to the masses at well over £8 or £9k and stock is turning around.

I have no idea why my friends cannot get a BLNR even a year on, having bought 2 or 3 Normal Rolex from the dealer.
No they are not selling at anything like that.

https://www.miltonaires.com/product/6377

Miltons Chester, May 17 Watch, not sold at £7,650, has been up for 3/4 months.

https://www.miltonaires.com/product/6686

LV at £7,999 unsold.

https://www.miltonaires.com/product/6708

Sea Dweller blue at £9,999 unsold.

etc.

I am waiting for a BLNR and Daytona, AD gets one every 3/4 months (of each), no rush to pay over list.

I missed out on one, hesitates at Heathrow a few years ago and regret it now... Are Rolex's the only watches that appreciate in value over the years or are there other new watches that are worth more in years to come, (alternative to ISA's)

No, Patek Phillipe Nautilus can appreciate quite well because of the very least long waiting lis5 for a new one.

I picked up a brand new BLNR from my local authorised dealer this weekend. Its 2 days old and never worn with all tags, paperwork, receipts etc. I have decided to go with the green sub instead... Been offered £7650 from a dealer in London, so was going to post down today.... If someone on here wants to beat that and can buy in the next 24 hours, they can have it! I live near Bolton.

Not a bad return for two days ownership.

This, for me. It's not difficult to guess a dealers margin, even those with low overhead, I doubt anyone would offer you that, today's values.

In early December I jokingly asked a friend which month in 2018 he thought they might hit £9k.

I would say WF is always going to over-inflate prices but as they have such a large market share I suppose they can? And they do seem to shift every BLNR they get without much issue.

Out of curiosity I got a valuation from WF for mine and they said £6300-£6600 (no stickers, but box + papers, 7 months old).

I would agree with you. WF is such a big player now in the market that they can manipulate the market price of the watches. My cousin purchased a BLNR in HK in october. It was brand new and only came into the grey dealer in the afternoon of sale, the Rolex warranty card was stamped the same day!

So someone had literally got it from the AD and walked into the grey dealer. He paid HK$72,000, which is around £6500. Retail price in HK is HK$71,000. What we all know is that the hot items get bought up by the AD staff with staff discount and they take them into the grey dealer. Hence the price is only £90 more than list.

Is the BLNR likely to be discontinued this year? Possible baselworld announcement?

How would anyone know? Rolex are so secretive about their changes everything is nothing more than an educated guess.

As an educated guess I can't see it, however if it was I'd expect it to be dropped for either a Coke or Pepsi bezel which would be more sought after.

That could even mean values dropping quite a bit as the replace the becomes "the next big thing".

Friend of mine picked a a SS GMT in late November last year from a midlands AD, he then put his name down for a BLNR, just got the call it has arrived.

He has been told though that they will photo copy the warranty card and withhold it for 12 months.

This does not worry him as he has no intention of moving it on.

It's always a friend isn't it?

And should this AD close down, go out of business, burn down, mislay those guarantee papers? Strange that I bought two sports models in the last 6 months and neither had this applied to them hehe
