Rolex BLNR "Batman" - buy at premium?

For what it's worth, I sold one of mine to a Watch Dealer for £7,000 on the nose (would have given me £7,500 part ex).

Watchfinder isn't always the best marker for prices as a BLNR appeared in a flash sale recently. After that I decided to jump out.

That sounds about right, I have one thats about that age and just been serviced at Rolex and looks brand new. I have had a trade bid around that as well. Not sure if I want to sell.

Rumour on TZ is that the watch is to be discontinued.

It's not in the Rolex 2018 Brochure but is still on the website.

There's been lots of rumours about it being discontinued, if that's the case i'll hold onto it for a little while longer... that's going to push prices up again no doubt.

I'd ask around Rolex dealers, and see if you can get your name put down on one.

I'm convinced that a large part of the shortage is just marketing, and you'll get what you're after if you're willing to wait. There are people here who've received a steel and ceramic Daytona in about eleven months, and they're a lot rarer and more desirable than a Batman.

Nope! Last message I got from my AD a few days ago when I queried was ‘I’ll keep you posted!’; could mean 1 week or 1 year, if at all!

Unofficial word is that they will be discontinued, cannot see why as there is so much demand and it's still running high.

Going to hang on to my ones.

There are always rumours of it being discontinued though, same with the LV recently which may have caused the spike in prices on the grey market. There are now alot of options on the GMT front though from Rolex, but thats not a bad thing either IMO.

I was starting to think of selling, nothing like a rumour of being discontinued to change your mind!
