Jealous of what? The fact that you’ve got a Submariner and people are now taking the piss out of your “schmoozing dealers”

Yup I’m dead jealous of you. rofl

Don’t be a plonker. Nobody is jealous of you and your sub. Loads of posters on here have Rolex(es) , I just didn’t go around “schmoozing dealers” and saying others who don’t have one are jealous. It’s actually people like you who give the brand a bad name. loser

I suppose some of us just can’t live with ourselves or sleep at night if we have the rancid taste of a shop assistants st on our tongues.
I can, however, sleep easy knowing that what I type onto a forum is easy to read and follows the rules of written English to a large degree.
Do I want to be a flash idiot that everyone rolls their eyes at? Naa.

Bog standard GMT up to around 9k now as well. nuts
That’s only really on watchfinder as far as I can see.

They’re still nearer RRP on Chrono24 (without papers and from Russia) hehe

Prices always fluctuate after Basel but all the same.

I’m still amazed you can’t get a new SS GMT on a Jubilee anymore.

bazza.

The polished centre links were bad enough on the “old” bracelet!

Oddly the GMT doesn’t suit straps very well for some reason either!

There are a few threads around where people
Have had the centre links brushed. Here’s one on TZ

I quite like it.

I always think the polished centre links are too blingy and scratch too easily and seem odd on a tool watch. Although the new bracelet is much better than the old GMT I wish they'd kept it brushed.

Yep, when I bought mine I ordered a Sub bracelet and changed it from new, the original still has all the stickers on it, doesn’t seem THAT stupid now!

I see a lot of people unwilling to pay a premium but if the watch is a keeper then I don't see the issue, perhaps it's the principle more than anything?

I had two BLNRs at one point and I jumped ship last year on one of them, a bit gutted but I suppose profit shouldn't be the aim of the game with watches.

You're the plonker, FFS. A chap is pleased he's got a nice new watch and tells people on a watch thread. Get over yourself, who do you think you are?

Anyway, I said yes, absolutely and made an appointment to pop along a couple hours later with a view to doing the deal. Whilst en route I got a message to say the watch was being sold to another random punter who walked in off the street.
Why didn't you just buy it over the phone and then pick it up? Sounds a odd to me either way.
I was kind of thinking the same. Your initial post suggests to me that you hadn't made a commitment to buy. "view to doing a deal" suggests you were thinking about it. If I wanted it & was going to buy it I'd have offered them a deposit or full payment over the phone.

It reads more like you were going to view a car, but another viewer got there before you & bought it.
You cant actually buy and pay over the phone with a AD - i tried this when i bought mine, and they insisted i needed to be in store to make the payment, i was fortunate that my AD actually cared and didn't sell from under me, to be honest i'm very surprised as the manager from my AD even sent me an email with an outlook app to add to my diary, they even stayed open 30 mins longer so i could get there after work as i have a long commute, so i dont think in this case the stock was ever there, silly marketing or just silly games, either way not the right way to do business.

AD's wont take a deposit either so they told me.

Wish you luck with the hunt for one though, they are an amazing watch, is it worth £14K no course not. so be patient, but trouble is now its Jubilee bracelet or nothing, and list is £7150.

I bought a BLNR three years ago , never bonded with it and thought about selling it about a year after I bought it , never got round to selling it though , the by product being extra potential profit if and when I get round to it.

Your point about profit not being the name of the game is a total contradiction, why else would you buy two ?

I had an e-mail from watchfinder a couple of days ago offering money back after two years on any steel Rolex! I guess they must be confident the bubble will either continue to go up or at a minimum stay level!

I bought my BLNR to wear every day as I’ve always loved the look of it - however the current value does have me thinking twice about using it every day! Might buy an air-king on the guaranteed money back deal!

On the last point, you're absolutely correct. The story goes I really fancied a BLNR nearly 2 years ago so I bought one from WF for £7,450, happy to pay the premium as I thought it would be a keeper. A couple of months later my AD offered me one also (for list price naturally) so I thought I'd pick it up all the same as values were slowly creeping up (at around £9000 at this point). I sold the WF item not long ago for around £9,500 and I'm wearing my other as we speak.

Long winded and I'm not in the business of flipping and 'investments', but I always said if my AD offered me something which is a little tough to get hold of then I'd buy it, can easily shift them if cash becomes tight.

Apparently so! No worry about the bubble bursting and prices plummeting.

Ceramic Daytona’s are almost £20k now! I thought my mate was mad made paying £14k for one just after they’d launched!
