When I was 10 (40 years ago) I received a proper timex watch which I have to this day.
I am now looking for something similar for my son and daughter.
I would like a decent brand analog watch with hopefully a back light.
Suggestions Please

My first watch that I can remember having for a long while when I was 11-12 (~'03-'04) was one of those old square digital Casio's you could pick up in corner shops for £10. After that when I was ~16 I got a Casio G-shock which I still have today

I know they have been trying to inflate there prices massively in recent years but if you can get one cheap I would strongly recommend them.

G-Shock went down very well with 11 year old nephew.

My boy was given his first watch by his nana for Christmas (yet another "first" she's stolen from me as well as his bike).

Anyway, it's a tikkers and it's st - so much as look at the crown and it pops out and the watch stops. So yeah, not a tikkers.

I bought my son a G Shock, he loves it, absolutely loves it.

I had previously bought him a really nice Seiko automatic (never wore it) and a CWC before that. G Shock every time for boys in my experience.... not sure for girls.

How much do you want to spend? You could go for a Seiko SRP191K1 - a dive watch, so it's tough, but it's small (well, small compared to just about any other Seiko diver).

If it was my money it would be Gs all round though. I'm all in favour of kids appreciating and looking after their possessions, but I'd rather they didn't have to worry too much about something so easily lost or damaged.
