I take it you're looking at a secondhand Atmos clock at that price? I've got one from the 70s. They are a great iconic timeless design but can be very fragile in terms of movement, set up and making sure the bellows stay pressurised.

They are a clock to treasure for years. Churchill, JFK and DeGaulle all had one.

Alternative might be a quality carriage clock with repeater.

Atmos clocks are fabulous, I've had one for 18 years, absolutely no problem, activated by the diaphragm that senses minute changes in temperature and winds the movement. According to JLC, should be good for 900 years !
