Out of interest, how much was this? It's now showing as SOLD so the price doesn't show any longer. Many thanks.

Timely thread.

Wandered into Goldsmiths to quote for a 126600 and was told a year to three years. They'll try and contact me twice to see if I want the watch when it comes in, but thats it. pffrt

That's absolutely insane!

Surely at that point you start to look at what else you can get for the money.....

Are these watchfinder prices much higher than other websites and private sale prices?

They always look a bit higher than I’d expect but if they are selling them, then that’s what people think they’re worth.

I see a used milgauss (blue LV) priced at above list. Is there a waiting list on milgauss’s now also?

£10,450 over list makes no sense on any level.

If you've got the money you're in Patek territory,

I was offered 13.5k trade for my Daytona (black face) with no paperwork (warranty card), just proof of purchase.

I can't see the prices on these dropping just yet, maybe in 12-24 months, the AD was saying they are getting through the lists rather quickly when they do call people once they tell them they will keep the paperwork for 12 months.

Honestly, I will wear and keep mine for 12 months and see what happens, but as I said elsewhere I really don't like the PCL and the watch looks like its 5 years old already (and I don't wear it everyday) plus i fancy a CLS55 and the Daytona would fund that nicely.

If I'm going to keep my Daytona I think I'm going to put it on a rubber oysterfelx copy with an after market deployment.

I passed through the Rolex AD in the Singapore transit terminal this weekend and the cases were literally half empty. All that was in them was precious metal DJs.

It was all a bit strange to be honest.

Funny that, they offered me £15,000 for my mint 2012 5711 Nautilus...

I did not snap their hand off.

Ridiculous - I'd be looking around for a white gold 116719 at that price.

I've just been looking at Kermits for sale over at SD Watches, one of them a NOS fat four asking $44k (over £34k)! eek

Others they have (pointy fours) are mid teens to mid twenties $. I'm hardly wearing mine any more because of all this. It's a double edged sword because I bought mine, new in 2007, to use because I love it, still do. A mate of mine years ago sold his to another mate for £3k in unmarked condition, unbeknown to me as I wanted another to keep good at the time. With people being targeted now for wearing good watches, one has to think about where not to go with it on. frown

I think there are bubbles now in many markets, be it housing, classic cars, stocks, vintage watches etc. A ten year bull run we've seen since the banks blew up, but now with brexit, trade wars, Trump bashing, monetary collapse in various countries and impending Trotskyite takeover here in old Blighty, the outlook is interesting to say the least.

Brilliant idea, might do the same for a change. Any idea where to pick one up?

Plenty of options on eBay, not sure on how durable they would be (you wouldn't want it dropping off your wrist for instance) however I've currently put up the bulk of my collection for liquidation so I never got to try it. I feel the time is right.
