I've long fancied a Pepsi and today a mate said he'd been offered a late (2008) GMT II Pepsi for quite a good price, i.e. what you would generally pay second hand for a nice standard GMT.

As it's such a late model, there may be a chance it's a 3186 stick dial although I haven't seen it yet.

I've seen people ask crazy money (IMHO) for them but what is a realistic value of one in the UK? It would be nice to have the new movement in the old "last of the original" style watch.

I may add, I might have first refusal if said mate doesn't buy it. Thoughts?

GMTII pepsi has been for sale at £4,750 at a jewellers I pass for the last two months. Good condition, not mint.

No box & papers.

Not a stick dial. Might be "rectangular"? Have to have another look. Could be 3186 too. Add £100 if so???

Retail I would have thought £8.5k +

I looked a little while ago and European Stick Dial prices were strong and your one is a super late one

Hope it's still nice and matte

The late z serials have the 3186 movements.

I have seen see earlier z serial ones on sale for about 6k

I have an early z serial, brand new with stickers on, from 2008 in a bank safe. I paid 2790 I think in 2008, guess its worth about 7.5? Dunno.

And some I'd say!

It's only an ASKING price but there is a 2006 on WF for £8.5 and no mention of a 3186 and I don't see any stickers (though they had less than they do now)

I thought that was quite strong until I looked on Chrono 24 and saw the prices abroad

Late Z and M serials have the 3186 movement. The pictured GMT above is very old as can be seen by the faded bezel. They're not worth the money imo. I purchased a Random Ser 14060 Submariner 2011, with the Parachrom balance spring and paid much less.

If it's a 3186 with box and papers I would say 2005/6 plus 2k
So somewhere around 8k

As to whether it is worth the premium or you would get it back that is a different matter

Prices do seem higher on chronology 24 but note gbp/eur is at a one year low or circa 7% lower than even 2 months ago. This only accounts for part of it though and full set watches do seem to be appreciating still from the adverts

This was mine , Stick dial fullset. If i remember it was about 6750.00

The 3186 movement would prob command another 1200 to 1500 ontop i would have thought.

Only really the collectors thta go all gooey over the later movement stick dial jobs.

Still awaiting confirmation on serial number although to be honest from my research you really can't tell until you pop the back off and check the movement.

Theres the famous (ish) wiggle test. If you pop the crown as though your setting the time , then move the crown back and forth as though your wiggling the hands. If there's some movement in the Gmt Hand whilst wiggling the hour and minutes hands , then its a 3185 Movement. If its nice n tight then its the 3186 Movement.

Give it a try if you can!

Serial numbers wont give any indication , the later the number the more chance its got the 3186 movement , however unless the wiggle or case off is the best indicator.

Watchfinder had a Gmt z serial with the 3186 movement a while back for sale , it was POA. I think it was 20 plus thousand
