I have decided that i would like a Navitimer 01, having been pondering a purchase for a while now. I have tried on both the 43mm and 46mm and its the 43 for me as the 46 is slightly too big on my wrist. I am in a quandary as to the best way to buy one. I have been to my local AD and for the watch I like it has a list price of £6790 and he is prepared to take off c15%, so about £1K discount .

I realise this isn't an appreciating watch, so I have also been looking online at brokers prices (grey imports) and also resellers. One has caught my eye at Swiss watch Co Ltd (London), its a Nov 15 watch, originating in Italy, it still has the 5 year warranty, although it would need to go back to Breitling for a 2 year check to maintain this. It looks lovely and i have spoken to the company selling who say that the watch is 'mint' condition, and it has the black deployment clasp strap I was wanting too.

So, watch experts, whats the way to go and are there pitfalls buying pre owned from a reseller? Has anyone had any dealings with the Swiss Watch Co?The pre owned watch is £1500 cheaper than buying a new discounted B 01.

I'm finding Chrono24 rather addictive with a couple of outcomes on a JLC and a Patek I'm more than happy with.

Each to their own and what one can afford and prepared to pay for. Some people may want to walk in a store and negotiate with an AD, get a deal, get a factory warranty etc....

Some may be happy getting a better discount, choice, a store warranty or even pre-owned.

I have gone from the first to the latter with no regrets so far with savings I see as covering a couple services alone.

I see Chrono24 showing approx 85 Nav 01's starting at £4300 derrivating from within the EU that are listed as unworn.

Happy hunting

Swiss Watch Co is watches.co.uk. I can certainly vouch for them as a sound firm to deal with.

Thanks for your comments.
I assume that Breitlng warranty is fully transferable?
