Hi All

Anyone got a view on where's best to sell a watch these days? I used to sell a lot on ebay but recently been burnt by people scamming me and saying they haven't received/things are broken etc. Paypal favoured the buy each time so I am very reluctant to go down that route again.

I got a quote from Watch Finder today. They have the exact same model on ebay for £3450....and offered me £1800 for mine. Sharks.

Where do you guys sell?

Many Thanks

What watch is it?

TBH I don't think an offer of £1800 on a watch they already have for sale for £3450 is unreasonable. After all they have one in stock, that they have not been able to sell, why do they want another ?

Unless it's a steel Rolex, or something special, it seems in the ball park, what were you expecting?

It's a Rolex Oyster 15210 - salmon dial.

I don't really want to sell to watchfinder and expected it would be lower than private sale of course but I wanted the low hassle/risk. I'd prefer to sell privately with low fees if possible to maximise return

You could try Chrono24

Watchfinders are also not the only buyers and sellers of secondhand rolexes. You could take some high res photos, and email the likes of Mark Worthington or Blowers etc etc.

Might also be worth contacting Dom Hackett on here, he may buy it or he may at least recommend a good selling avenue.

You could also persist with Ebay, and make it a collection only sale, and cash/bank transfer only.

Sorry all, got a bit sidetracked there.

Yes I think chrono24 is an option, as is ebay with bank transfer etc. Perhaps I will get it listed up there and try a couple of the other sources. Appreciate everyone's input on this.

Thanks

Look up iconic watches. Sold a tudor and a rolex sub to them and nobody could touch their prices.

Sorry thought I posted this the other day. Watches of distinction in the new forest gave me a good price for a Heuer Monaco a few years ago.
