It looks like you're wearing a Wurlitzer
Totally agree with that, however the Wurlitzer is much better looking..................!!!Brads67 said:
Dear lord they are ugly as sin.
Why on earth you would fork out that amount for something that looks like a cheap Chinese gimmick watch is beyond me.
Agreed. Surely it’s a case of “because I can” rather than “because I want to”.Why on earth you would fork out that amount for something that looks like a cheap Chinese gimmick watch is beyond me.
They look like something you’d get out of a plastic egg from a seafront arcade.

Do you ever worry when wearing it about having arm chopped off for it with the values?Richard Mille..LOL
Garbage watch. No history and heritage, weird illegible skeleton dials, finishing is a joke compared with other watches in the 50-100k price bracket from the big 3/4, nothing to speak of movement wise in most of their watches (you pay 50k+ for a suspect brand and there isn't even a complication to justify the cost?), and to top it all of they are ugly as sin.
Yes, before someone asks I have tried one on, and I know someone who owns one so have handled them and am not just basing this on pictures.
Then there's the residuals. The buyer when new likely doesn't really care about re-sale, interesting to know what sort of market there is used for watches this niche and this expensive, considering a standard service is something like 6k? What (if any) sort of demand will there be for these watches in 15 years time?
OP- if you want something big, bold, (but also beautiful in it's own way), expensive and special get an AP. Stunning watches in the flesh, exclusive enough (I think output is circa 30k per year compared with Rolex 800,000+) and cost of a rose gold AP Royal Oak Offshore will be roughly 50% of RM. If you buy used and buy well AP's hold value fairly well for a watch of this type.

I think most people who aren't into watches would think its a G Shock or a Swatch.I like some of the more restrained ones but some are just hideous. Understandable though as RM chases the Asia, Russian markets etc.
I quite like them, well, some of the more reserved/sporty designs anyway.
I know it's heresy on this site but they're one of the few watches I'd buy a fake of. I mean, it's not like I'd ever buy a real one and it's unlikely anyone who saw me wearing it would ever think it was anything other than a £100 fashion watch anyway.
I also like B.R.M. watches but I can't ever see me dropping the money on one of those either.
Hasn't someone on here bought an orange one this year?

Some RM's are a little OTT for my taste , yes that is true, maybe pandering to the Russian/Chinese markets a little more..but
absolute pap to say they are rubbish & no heritage. I have visited RM & AP factories and they work very closely, a lot of the 'cleverer' movements come out of AP research dept etc. Yes the RM11 etc are a bought in movement from Vaucher I believe, but still a very good one at that. The 11 is comfortable bit sits quite big on the wrist, but a cracking watch.
I quite like the fact also , people have no idea, as you say I think they fly under the radar of 95% of people value wise. If you want to show ' I am rich' to the general public then just get a gold rolex , maybe even put a few diamonds on it.RM is pretty stealth or as you say casio looking...we like that, you can wear them for your own pleasure
I have had an 002 for many years and it is my favourite to wear, smaller than an 11, love the carbon & tourb, sits lovely, titanium so nice & light etc, rear looks quite cool too
Sometimes I get the bad boy out for a beach holiday, but again its a monster & takes a bit of getting used to wearing...very casio Gshock to the untrained eye...
Or really push the boat out with the 52...very much a safe queen /long term investment, in fact have turned down an offer for more than I paid for it, so you cannot really complain about long term value on it......

I think most rm's are a reasonable price. I can remember when £50k would get you a new one but now you've got to be spending £120k upwards really. I much prefer them to a Rolex or an AP as they are different and to the un trained eye probably a g shock. I still wear Rolex and AP's but the RM's are just something special, especially the tourbillion movements

I suppose that's peak PH.I can't see how they can possibly be described as reasonably priced.
I like the standard 'no colour' ones and my RM005 is the only non-rolex I have ever made a profit on come sale but I can't see how they can be considered reasonable when it comes to price!
