It's not meant as a criticism of this particular watch - I was just wandering down the path So pointed down.

How does the back of a watch enable you to dress it up or down?
Wasn't taken as a criticism smile It's just a watch.

Due to it having the display case the watch feels like it is not a pure tool watch, maybe its just in my head but it makes the watch more dress up appropriate.

Heh. I wear my Explorer as a dress watch but my North Flag (with display back) as my every day 'tool watch'.

I agree - it's like the opposite of my feelings for my Ingeniuer. Would love it without the glass back as it feels unecessary.

There you go, some like the display case and some don't. Not sure if there is a rule for when to add one to a watch but for me it makes it feel a bit more dress than tool. Clearly just my view.

Omega love display casebacks but they don't work with certain models (especially the thick caseback that 9300 Co Axial Speedmasters came with).

Oh man, these are classic. It's a shame that 36 looks so small my flat wrist.

Skinny wrists can be a curse in these times of huge watches (trend subsiding now a bit I think) - the Datejust 41 looked silly on me. Stunning watch though smile

The GMT Master I've ordered only works for me because it's a tool watch (and relatively small) so it still looks ok slightly oversized on my girly wrists! I felt that the Datejust was just too dressy to be oversized and should smaller than a tool watch.

They're great. If I had to only have one watch for the rest of my days a 36mm DJ would be it.

Same here, the watch to end all watches IMHO.

I have to agree, as much as I absolutely love many other watches, nothing else seems to hit the right cord in any situation quite as well as the Datejust. Its definitely the one I'd choose.

Nothing else has had a look in last two weeks.

Little lume shot

ETA - any suggestions where I can get a distressed grey leather strap (24/22) that won't break the bank welcomed.
