I quite like that. Apart from the cigarette lighter stuck on the side, obviously.

NASA is a government agency and the austronauts are public servants. I seem to remember a bit of a stink here in the UK a few years back about kickbacks and claims. Duckhouse, anybody?

haha - its a nod to bomb aimers of WW2 who would need to time bombing runs in a freezing cold cockpit all the time wearing gloves. The lever is the stopwatch stop/start and makes the chrono very easy to use with or without gloves.
Not very suit friendly mind!

Excellent design-over-style application then clap

Always fancied a Seiko 5 for the collection. I also fancied a gold coloured watch. Sign of age I suppose but it would make a nice change from the usual stainless steel. Arrived today and I like it. Even got a display back.

Everyone should have at least one goldy coloured watch in their arsenal.

1978 Bulova with their 242 series movement. Accurate to about +0.6 seconds per week (yes, week) and with their patented AccuSet feature for correcting to a time signal at the push of a button:

I know they have a bit of a rep but I've always fancied a Tag - particularly a Carrera.

A friend of mine works for LMVH HK and I was fortunate enough to be invited by him to their 'staff sale' last week - I went from never having owned a TAG, to owning 3. The below I bought for myself, I also bought a lovely plain carrera for my dad, and a pink / diamond link for my sister for Christmas. All automatic.

Total for all three - 2300gbp. Obviously not all 2018 models, but the RRP for the trio is around 10k. Hoping to be invited next year - there was a beautiful Monaco but I just wasn't ready to spend that much, even at 70pc discount.

Anyway - my Carrera;

My only regret was that I didn't ask them to swap the strap for the perforated leather one on the quartz version. I'm really happy with it.

Oh it does also annoy me that the back isn't on 'straight'

I'm afraid I'm going through a Bling stage at the moment. I'm looking to fit a jubilee with PCL's to it just to satisfy my urge. I know I'm wasting time and money and it will end up on a leather but what the hell.

I can confirm that these watches are slightly less horrible in person. There isn't much in it though, even if the build quality is utterly excellent hehe

Thanks, I think...

However, you spent a home on a bloody Seiko and I note you are still buying so I am a little disappointed in you young man.

Whenever I go into My Stuff and see that JAYB has posted to this thread, I open it whilst peering through my fingers, like when I watched Dr Who as a kid.

biggrin

Hahahahaha - yes exactly.

I am assuming the watches are posted whilst a sardonic grin plays across his otherwise unreadable features.
