Thanks gents.

I think I'll do that then, will stick my name down for one at the weekend and see what happens. In no real rush but thanks again for the offer for the 2018 one.

Popped in to a London Rolex AD today just on the off chance they might have just taken delivery of any SS sports watch.

Nowt in the window. Nowt inside. No chance of even getting on their waiting list.

Didn’t even try and engage me to see if I was interested in the flotsam and jetsam they did have sat there gathering dust!

That`s because they get 25 calls a day about SS watches and every other customer through the door wants a Sub.

Must be incredibly boring for them mind.

I have a SS GMTII if you're interested. Unworn and bought in Dec '17.
PM if interested.

Got the call on this today, only a 3 month wait rather than the 6 months they had suggested.

I love it! It's pretty depressing that so many people buy them without wearing them, I wore mine out of the shop - why wouldn't you?!

My sub has been worn since it was bought.

It has been inside engines and deer ! down rabbit holes and at the bottom of the red sea.

They are for wearing. Once went into a dealer, and he took it from me wearing gloves and washed it ! lol.

I cracked my lume pip on the 3rd day of owning my 16600, have also smashed it off a stone wall and scuffed the case. They look better when they're beat up, they are tool watches after all!

Wear in good health, I like the all black GMT.

Paid my AD a visit for a catch up and they were saying it's been ludicrously tight in terms of stock. They've had 1 Daytona all year and the next one is mine, hopefully it's a Panda but I'm not too picky.

Are all Daytona's as hard to get or is it just the stainless steel?

I bought my steel one with no wait, but was told that I was very lucky to walk in on the right day. I was given the impression that the white gold one was generally available.

I think that the yellow and rose gold models on the Oysterflex aren't too hard to get hold of. I saw one of each in a couple of Melbourne ADs a few months ago.

From what other posters on here are saying, it sounds like the stainless / ceramic Daytona has about a ten to twelve month waiting list. So possibly not as unobtainable as popular myth would suggest.

Bought on a whim, preferred my other watches, get nervous of scratching it. Took it out the other day and just don't like the look. See too many in London on a work day that is just not unique enough.
Will be replacing with a Cellini I think

That’s a shame but I agree. See too many around to make it feel special to me.

Which one out of interest? Lot of love for the Cellini here, one of mine is currently in a jewellers window wink

Thank you - I will smile

Re the white gold Daytona, my AD has had a blue dial one in the window for the last 3 months. I think it looks stunning, however I guess the white gold looks too much like steel for most. I must admit, I wouldn't buy one unless I could get a large discount.

I too love the Cellini. Rose gold date with silver dial and brown strap for me please! Again - are discounts available at all on these?

I was always under the impression that typically Cellini's are fairly undesirable, they're always in the windows of ADs along with a load of datejusts which means I would think you could probably get some money off. I quite like them but there's other dressier watches I prefer, the moon phase is very nice though.

I think i must be alone in actually liking the steel and gold version.

Thought I'd got lucky earlier spotting a pepsi gmt 2 in the window in an AD in Tenerife. Turned out it was a white gold model priced@ €33k.
Oyster bracelet should have been the clue.
