Yep, the mesh suits it better, as CdeG will no doubt agree.
I have made my point and won't bang on about it. If threadists like them, that's all that matters.

The obvious answer for a really classy ladies watch is a Longines Conquest quartz.
From a couple weeks back..

Don't know how Charles resolved his gifting conundrum, but I took Barchettaman at his word and acquired a LadyConquest (auto) for Mrs Rabbit's Christmas stocking. Good call, chap! That should get me out of doing the dishes until at least the 27th.

I don't normally like metal straps, generally preferring a leather strap, but the Titanium Seiko mentioned earlier is very pleasant. Here's the link I found:

https://www.hsamuel.co.uk/webstore/d/2443317/seiko...

I only recently found this thread, but it feels like a decent group, and affordable as well. What is the thoughts on smart watches? I normally wear a Garmin Vivomove HR, which has a proper face, but allows me to get notifications without looking like a triathlete:

https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/583562

Can be had for £140...

Hi louiebaby and welcome to our little corner of tinternet, any and all watches are welcome, we don't discriminate, well other than CdeG's inexcusable dislike of mesh straps that is hehe.
The Garmin's a good choice, I looked at them when I was looking at replacing my Fossil Machine hybrid, there's one to look at for a start, the Fossil hybrids do all your notifications and still have an analogue face, I replaced mine with a Withings Steel HR Sport which I'm really happy with especially the heart rate monitor and the notifications side, I've only charged mine twice since owning it!!!!

I take it that by 'inexcusable dislike' you meant 'clarity of vision and taste...' laugh
Something like that.........biglaugh

Speak for yourself Bobbers. I certainly do discriminate. Nasty electronical trinkets that don't go tick-tock, we doesn't like them, does we? ranting
Now, now BrokenSkunk, we've talked about this haven't we??? Play nicely with the other kids!!! hehe

That's on my want list. I have this one:

It is nice, but it is a bit too big to be honest. How's the blue one?
I don't find it too large, but I have fairly large wrists. I had just one link taken out of the strap when I got it.
I'd say it keeps ticking for about 48 hours of not wearing it. Just bought a winder so I don't have to keep resetting it.

Looks really nice and is quite solid. I think they're a great buy for the money. At the time I couldn't find one in the UK, so bought one from a store in California. Turned up in about a week.
I just love this watch, it's on my "wanted list"!!

I like the withings at half the price of the Garmin, but I really do like that garmin seems to have integrated the display even in their non-black watches.
I quite like the Fossil offering, especially that it seems to have a display that is based on the same tech as the Kindles with digital paper...

https://www.fossil.com/en-gb/products/hybrid-smart...

Great choice, the app works well but is prone to "losing" its connection!!

I think it's on a few!
It's difficult to find. I think Seiko discontinued it. It is available here for less than the muppets on ebay seem to think a 2nd hand one is worth:

Mine arrived in a week or so.
Did you get hit with import taxes? What's the cost of postage?

Type 'Seiko Recraft' into ebay and one of the first results is this one....

Saw that one, the 90% positive feedback puts me off.

Well my latest watch has landed, it's yet another digital!

Now whilst I really like the watch, the leather strap isn't really my style.

Any idea of anyone who would do a custom canvas strap for it? It's 36mm lug width!
That's a very interesting looking thing!!!

They do a normal version which is brushed steel finish and a plain leather strap, but this is the Lance Armstrong edition.

I think I may have just found a perfect strap for it on eBay, dimensions seem bang on and it's pretty much the kind of thing I had in mind.

Good news blue_haddock!!

Seen those before, amazing things! No one quite understands how they keeps going, but sadly they lie a bit and will mysteriously start gaining like the clappers if you let them anywhere near any drugs.
