I really don't need another watch, but......................................................
Same here, which is why I'm annoyed that this thread has caused me to buy two watches in as many weeks. TiggerBits said:
So many to choose from. My favourites are Parnis, because the spec for the money is unbeatable. However I just bought this AVI-8 for £75 from an ebay private seller, which is normally about £149, albeit I got it for half that. I then spent another tenner on the strap
I also like TW steel watches. Best bargain I have managed to get is this 45mm canteen style watch with a Seiko NH35 movement. Priced at £475 on three separate web sites, but picked it up new of £67

Fancied something a bit different to the G-Shocks I normally wear , really happy with this for just over £120
That's a good price, I was looking at the Edifice range a couple of weeks ago, they do some nice looking watches for sensible money! Edited by jayrallye on Thursday 8th March 16:59

I'm looking for a watch for a friends wedding, preferably under £200, The only thing I fancy is a strap like the one below, face I want quite plain, possibly blue or black face and the watch needs to be silver.
Anybody point out any good makes in that price range that make straps like this? would prefer new but 2nd hand is an option.
Hi AJB88, just had a quick look in eBay and there are several which fit the bill by Hugo Boss, Skagen and even some Seiko's!! Go to men's watches and then use the filters to whittle it down to bracelet style( in your case Milanese/ mesh) case colour and face colour, there were a couple of really nice Skagen one's around £110!! Good luck and don't forget to come back and show us!!Anybody point out any good makes in that price range that make straps like this? would prefer new but 2nd hand is an option.

Now I've got the watch bug and am enjoying the orient ray I'm thinking of getting another watch, around the budget of this thread. I do like the style of the breitling superocean heritage, white face and mesh strap. Can any of you watch lovers recommend a homage or similarly styled piece?!
Somebody else asked a similar question earlier in the month, I found a really nice Skagen for £110 and a couple of others, eBay and use the filters to narrow down to exactly what you want, even if you don't buy through eBay it's a good way to find what you like!! Don't forget to come back and show us!!!Thanks hilly, i was looking at a blue face Seiko, mainly as i was feeling left out from the Seiko appreciation society , but Mrs Bobbers didn't really like it so while we were out spending huge sums of money on yet more clothes buying just a couple of things, she spotted it and insisted i buy it, i must admit i prefer it's looks to the Seiko!! I do like that Invicta of yours, i think they're quite underrated and look to be very good value for money!!

My little collection. In a Lidl tea caddy for extra ph points! Significant ph points deductions for the lack of any 4 figure watches though. In fact there are barely any 3 figure ones in there! I’ve got a couple of poljots, a couple of skagens (as a Dane, please please please pronounce this scayen rather than skaaagen!!), an oozoo (which I absolutely adored, right up to the moment the second hand fell off!!) a seiko and a rotary.
It's funny as I buy on looks and price, I prefer chronograph watches for looks but I have to look at it and straight away say yeah I like that, then it's price, Mrs Bobbers wanted to buy me something special for my 50th in a couple of years(yeah I know a long way off but she wanted to start saving) but when it comes to watches I'm not that careful with them, they get knock and brushed against stuff so if I had a £2000 watch I'd be really pissed if I damaged it, her solution is to get me a watch around £500 and a couple of bottles of 25year old whisky (my other passion and it's our 25th anniversary the same year as my 50th!!).

Does anyone know of either an automatic or hand winding watch with a functioning moon phase display in this price bracket?
I was showing a friend some watches in a jeweller's over the weekend, pointing out what the various complications were and evidently he loves a moon phase. He's in the process of buying a house so not exactly feeling cash rich. I said i'd have a look for something in this price bracket, but it's proving as difficult as i'd imagined. I had a look at Creation Watches, which allows you to view only moon phase watches and that didn't find a true moon phase. What it did find was a terrific looking Orient, but it has a sun / moon indicator (effectively an am/pm display) rather than a moon phase display:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CHT9BBU/ref=asc_df_...
Still a great watch that i'm quite tempted to buy myself.
Looking back through this thread i saw Parnis and they make this:
https://parnis.org/products/parnis-watches-classic...
Which looks great, but the moon phase display isn't mentioned in the description, making me think it's purely cosmetic and doesn't actually do anything.
So back to the original question, have i missed anything in the <£200 range? If there's nothing, what's the cheapest moon phase out there?
It would appear that unless you want to go really cheap and unheard of then the Orient is the way forward, it's not a true moon phase watch as it has a sun and moon phase, but a little digging on Amazon unearthed this:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Orient-Classic-Automatic-... which I happen to think is a lovely looking watch and quite elegant!!I was showing a friend some watches in a jeweller's over the weekend, pointing out what the various complications were and evidently he loves a moon phase.
