It's one of their Tough Solar models and has a built in compass, altimeter and barometer. Here's the link to the Amazon USA site. I'm not sure if Amazon UK sell it.

This is the ProTrek I've been hankering after ... Marginally over budget on the Casio outlet (224) but even still ...BertieWooster said:

New Timex Q (re)launched today in case anyone didn't see.

I like the 'pepsi', so have ordered one of these too.
I got confirmation that my Subphotique shipped from Paris today too, but that's for another thread.

Already sold out of the diver. I see some greedy pricks have hoovered up a load and are already selling them new in box with a + £100 mark-up on ebay.https://www.timex.co.uk/q-timex-reissue-falcon-eye...

The original one (blue and red) is meant to be back in stock in December. When it was first released Hodinkee did a piece on it and they sold out. Came back in stock a few months later and sold out again in an hour or so.
Mine is the cheapest watch in the box but gets a lot of wear, normally when I get home after work. It's a great watch for the money.

Cheers I'll have another look in December. When it was first released Hodinkee did a piece on it and they sold out. Came back in stock a few months later and sold out again in an hour or so.

It's certainly different.
I'm a huge Seiko fan, but I don't think they have anything with a dial like this at the price point. They clearly have other things going for them, so wouldn't argue the choice.
The main selling point is its offensively retro. The Pepsi was retro but we're all used to seeing that aesthetic. let's face it, there are very few modern two tone watches about, so this gives a bit of a point of difference. Its not a relevant current style.
As for new vs vintage... absolutely, find an old one and use it. It's great that you can log into the Timex website and get a reissue though, and for not a lot of cash. Some people like patina, some people like new. We now have choice

If they were made in Dundee they would have more appeal for me. I'm a huge Seiko fan, but I don't think they have anything with a dial like this at the price point. They clearly have other things going for them, so wouldn't argue the choice.

I arrived home from deployment and collected the latest arrivals from a friend that accepted them. I'm really pleased with the two in-budget (and actually very cheap) Parnis, and especially like the blue-faced one.
The art deco square one was a more expensive 1 of 100 that was mentioned on the wrist check thread and I got what I think was the last one.
