Thought I'd give the thread a bump as I haven't been on here for a while, my Citizen is being worn daily to keep it wound and today I put the silicon strap back on.

I'm looking for a brown leather strap for it but am limited due to the 24mm width, i've found one I really like and may get it at the end of the month, that'll give me a nice choice of the three straps for it!!

Slightly over budget at £226.00 & £216.00, but I'm sorely tempted by either of these Bering automatics:

https://www.timeshop4you.co.uk/watches/bering/1624...

https://www.the-unit-store.com/collections/gents-w...

Japanese automatic Miyota movements and nice Scandinavian designs, what's not to like at those prices.

Have had a quartz Bering for years and it's always been a good watch. smile

Indeed. I was surprised it is an automatic too.

There are loads of 24mm straps available - its a fairly common size. I picked up a lovely blue stitched black leather strap off eBay seller watch_straps for just £9.95 and a fabulous soft brown vintage leather one from lawr389.

It looks good with either strap on, my only criticism is when it's very quiet first thing in the morning and I have it on as I'm getting ready for work you can hear the automatic part of the watch, it sounds a little like a ball bearing race, it's not particularly loud until it within arms length and seeing as I've never had an automatic watch I don't know if that's normal or not?? l]

rofl
I’m intrigued as to how you hear it when it’s not ‘within arm’s length’!!

Go-go-gadget removable arms?!?! rofl
If it's held down by my side after a shake i can't hear it, but as i bring my arm up i can.

I was in the market for a Submariner or a GMT homage/copy, and this one came in well under budget.

The bezel and face are in a really dark blue. The top left of the bezel is a dark burgundy. It looks a bit odd with the leather strap but I´m kind of used to it now.

It´s not much compared to many of the lovely watches on this thread but it was well under budget (I was looking up to 200 quid) and I like it a lot! Accurist are well worth a look, particularly when they are 60% off.

Yep, was looking at those as well as the Seiko sub copy, but went for the Accurist in the end.

Glad you both like it, I feared I would be laughed out of here!

Bulova are decent watches. I have three and am very happy with all of them.
One is an automatic and the other 2 are precisionists. The sweep of the second hand on a non-chrono precisionist is uncanny in its smoothness. My favourite Bulova (outside the budget for this thread) is the Lunar Pilot.

Sounds like you have a nice selection there, I did look at a Precisionist before I bought my Citizen but it was well out of budget, I LOVE my Bulova Adventurer, it keeps pretty much perfect time!!!

Invicta seem to have two lines:
  1. Ridiculously oversized watches that are... an acquired taste that I haven't yet acquired
  2. Blatant sub copies
I actually like the latter, they are very good quality ime.
